It Is Our Privilege And Purpose To Serve You
John Leo Rassier
February 25, 1952 - October 27, 2017

Place of Birth: St. Cloud, Minnesota
Residence: Sidney, Montana
Age: 65

John Leo Rassier was born on February 25, 1952 in St. Cloud, MN to Donna and John ‘Jack’ Rassier. John grew up in St. Johns, MN and graduated from Apollo High School in St. Cloud, MN in 1970. Following high school John worked various construction and cement jobs. Also in his spare time he played in a country-western band and bartended in different bars throughout Minnesota. In 1981, John moved to Billings, MT with his future wife, Deborah ‘Deb’ Mayers-Rassier. John worked as a Kirby distributor in Billing before moving to Glendive, MT where he ran and owned his own Kirby distributor. On June 21, 1986, John married Deb and seven years later on March 12, 1993, they had their daughter, Amy Jo Rassier.

In 1997, the family moved to Sidney, MT where John was already working at Thirud Office Supply as a Sales Representative and then a Sales Manager. Shortly after, John took over ownership of Thirud’s and it was his pride and joy running his own business. He enjoyed helping customers and providing for his family. In November 2012, John began a new career working at Sidney Sugars Inc. as a forklift driver where he quickly ascended to Silo Operator in June 2013 and then to Warehouse Leader in August 2013. As Warehouse Leader, he worked supervising staff during different shifts. According to his coworkers he was a hard working, honest man who always gave his all to his work. He would rarely ever take a day off of work, but when he did it was to be with his family.

John enjoyed going to his daughter’s school athletic and other events to support her. He often spoke about her and how proud he was of her accomplishments. He also enjoyed traveling back home to visit his parents, siblings, and other relatives. He enjoyed the simple things and times of just hanging out at his parents’ house talking with his family or going out to the cabin by the lake in Minnesota. When his Minnesota family and friends would visit Montana, he would then act as their tour guide and host to take them out paddle fishing, hunting, eating, and on road trips around the area. In his spare time, he liked to read and watch movies/television shows particularly in the genre of westerns and politics/history. He was a die-hart Minnesota Vikings and Twins fan and always tuned in for the games.

John passed away the night of Friday, October 27, 2017, while he was at work at Sidney Sugars.

He is survived by: his wife, Deborah Mayers-Rassier; son, John ‘Trevor’ Rassier; daughter, Amy Jo Rassier; his father, John B. Rassier; brothers, Edward Rassier, Don Rassier, Alan Rassier; sisters, Linda (Rassier) Muske, Janice (Rassier) Pate; 2 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, mother, Donna Rassier, and brother, Steven Rassier.
