Deanne "Dee" Marie Black
October 22, 1958 - September 21, 2017

Place of Birth: Williston, ND
Residence: Williston, ND
Age: 58

Deanne “Dee” Black, 58, of Williston, ND, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, after a long struggle at the Kalispell Health Center in Kalispell, MT.
Deanne Marie Black was born in Williston at Mercy Hospital on October 22, 1958 to Francis and Beatrice Hoffelt. Dee graduated from Williston High School in 1977 and attended NDSU in Fargo where she received a bachelor’s degree in sociology and psychology. Dee married Doug Black on June 19, 1981 and later picked up an education degree from Valley City State College. Dee worked as a substitute teacher at Williston High School and Trinity Christian School for several years while she and Doug raised 5 children. Dee loved being a homemaker and mother. She adored her children and grandchildren. She spent countless hours working as a volunteer on school activities and never missed her children's events. While Jesus was her first love, Dee loved to spend time with her husband, children, grand children and extended family and friends. Dee was loved by many. Her love for her Savior was reflected in her love for others, whom she always put ahead of herself. Even in the last year of her life when she was in so much pain she thought of others before herself. Dee said often that when she went to be with the Lord, she didn't want a funeral service; she wanted a joyous celebration because she was going home to be with Jesus and other family members who went before her.
Dee will be deeply missed by her husband, Doug; children, Lindsey Evitt (Russell) and their child, Eloise; Malachi Black (Gracia) and their children, Bishop and Duke; Gabriel Black (Carin) and their children, Augustus and Atticus; Elijah Black (Sara) and their children, Jaxon, Jayda and Vera; Isaac Black.
Deanne was preceded in death by her mother and father, Bea and Francis Hoffelt; brothers, Michael and Keith; a sister, Patricia; son, Jeremiah.

Memorial Contribution
Memorials are preferred to Trinity Christian School in Williston, North Dakota.

I am so sad at this loss of our last remaining Stahl/Hoffelt cousin, Dee. I have so many wonderful memories of time spent with her Grandma and Grandpa Stahl, with her sister Patty that we tragically lost even younger, and with the entire Hoffelt family. I pray for peace and love to surround all of her family and may the good memories give you comfort in the future. Dee, may the angels guide you into paradise, where you will see God face-to-face!
Michelle Stahl (Bismarck, ND)
Sep 23, 2017
My sincerest sympathy to Doug and all Dee's children and grandchildren who were so dear to her. Growing up with our Stahl-Hoffelt relatives we had so many fun times playing with Deanne, her sister and brothers. We all grew up strong in Faith, her grandparents and parents being wonderful role models. Dee lived through many tough times, tragedy, yet continued strong, and growing even stronger in faith, closeness to our Lord, during events many others might instead feel abandoned. She clung to our Lord's strength and his Promise. Now this woman of such grace has moved on to her just rewards and I can but imagine her family welcoming her to Heaven with such love and joy. Such grace and beauty will be missed in this world by all

Our thoughts and prayers are with you at this difficult time. We have such fond memories of the football years at VCSU, especially the playoff game in Texas.
