Joyce Peak, 74, passed away at Trinity Hospital in Minot, ND on Thursday, July 14, 2016 after she suffered from complications of pneumonia. Fulkerson Stevenson Funeral Home of Tioga has been entrusted with arrangements.Joyce Peak was born on January 18, 1942 in Virginia to Leo Willert and Myrtle (Conner) Willert. She was the middle child of seven. She attended school in Fessenden and Page, ND. She married Cyrus Harding in August of 1960. They had three children. She lived for a short time in Terry, Montana and Harvey, ND.
She married Richard Peak on June 29, 1979 in Hurdsfield ND. They made their home in Hurdsfield until they moved to Underwood ND in 1985. After they retired, they lived in Bismarck until Richard passed away in 2010. She then moved to Tioga ND.
She loved to cook, and she worked for restaurants and cooked for the Senior Citizen Center. She was very well-known for her homemade soups and pies. She was also remembered for her clean house and even temperament when raising her children. She enjoyed ceramics, needle work, and making jewelry. She loved to take care of and spend time with her grandchildren. She liked to collect elephants, so family and friends often gave her elephants as gifts. Her collection became quite extensive.
She was a member of First Lutheran Church in Tioga.
She is survived by her two daughters, Nancy (Brad) Guler of Hannaford, ND and Nicole (Brian) Skabo of Tioga, ND; her son, David Harding of Crookston, MN; two step-sons, Dallas Peak and Doug Peak; a step-daughter, Denise Firnekas; Kim Peak; her grandchildren, Stephanie (Justin) Cherney, Chris Guler, Alex Guler, Travis (Vanessa) Guler, Brandon Skabo, Peyton Skabo, Ryne Skabo, Becky (Justin) Jones, Bryce Peak, Daniel Peak, Stephen Peak, and David Peak; her brothers Darryl (Kathy) Willert, Steven (Susan) Willert, Rick Willert; her sister Cynthia (Marty) West; and several great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Richard Peak; her sister Gloria (Bob) Stroh; her brother Ben (Linda) Willert; and a step-son, Deral Peak.
