Delphine Azar, 87, of Williston, died peacefully at her Williston residence, Tuesday evening, June 28, 2016. Her funeral arrangements are with Fulkerson Stevenson Funeral Home of Williston.

Delphine Alice Azar 87, loving Wife, Mother, Sister, Grandmother, Great-grandmother, Aunt, Cousin, and Friend passed away peacefully, Tuesday, June 28th, 2016 at her home in Williston.

Delphine was born December 26, 1928, on the family farm, eldest of fifteen children, to August and Delphine (Marion) Erickson. She was raised and educated in the Dagmar, Montana area. As the eldest she was tasked to help with numerous duties, including caring for her siblings. This sparked her love for babies. Everyday chores consisted of milking cows, gathering eggs, cleaning, cooking, and baking. At age 9 she started baking which grew to be one of her favorite hobbies.

On November 23rd 1949, Delphine married the love of her life Fred Azar. To this union came four children, who also blessed them with numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Fred, passed away in 1998 one year shy of their 50th wedding anniversary.

Delphine was a hard and dedicated worker. She was the head housekeeper at the Plainsman Hotel, and a cook at Family Thrift Center Café, before retiring as a cook at Williston Junior High. Though after retirement she continued baking and hosted bake sales at Christmas time. Her Syrian bread was beloved by all. Delphine was an excellent housekeeper, embroiderer, baker, and cook. She loved trying new recipes and even made her own cook book.

As a very giving person, Delphine was a joy to be around. Her door was always open to visitors and friends, she served coffee and whatever baked treats she made that day. She could often be found embroidering beautiful kitchen towels or outside with her flowers, gardening, and watching the birds.

Delphine will be greatly missed by survivors: daughters, Margaret, Kalisiak (Roger) of Dalhart, Texas, Shirley Azar, Karen Ellingson of Williston; son Randy (Julie) Azar, of Williston; 10 grandchildren, Shad (Betsy), Susie, Jason (Echo), Crystal, Cameron (Cassie), Nicholas, Amanda (Casey), Shane (Emily), Adrian, and Sarah; 21 great grand-children, Judah, Braelyn, Kinsley, Logan, Jayden, Bradyn, Hayden, Taylon, Kayson, Blain, Skye, Kjerstin, Allie, Gage, Avery, Karter, Kash, Jocelyn, Karleigh, Spencer, and Gracelynn.

She is also survived by her siblings, Talbert (Judy) Erickson of Sidney, Montana, Donovan Erickson of Jackson Hole, Wyoming, Betty Ann Rutz of Pine View, Washington, and Glen Erickson of Anchorage, Alaska.

Delphine was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Fred, sister Helen, brothers Donald, Noble, Arnold, Dennis, Gary, Karl, Gale, and Eldon; nephews DuWayne, and Mark; and niece Doreen Krosbaken.

Aunt Dilly will always be remembered for her love of family. She enjoyed spending countless hours in the kitchen cooking and baking. Her soft, square molasses cookies with the white sugar top will be missed as well as her laugh.

Look for the new bright star in the deep blue sky!

My heart is heavy as I think of all of you going through this hard time. I have years of memories of your mother, and will never forget her cabbage rolls made with grape leaves. She was a wonderful cook, and so blessed with her children and grandchildren. I can hear her now answering the phone saying "Helllloo" and I am sure she was excited to get to heaven and greet everyone with that same "Helllloo"! Thinking of you all and always keep her alive in your stories and memories that you will share forever. She will be missed. Hugs to you all!

Aunt Dilly was a very special lady. Boy could she cook and bake. I remember staying at her house when we were up visiting from CO and she put my Tennis shoes outside.....stinky feet :). I am sure there was such a happy reunion when she got to heaven on the wings of Angels, I am sure all were there to greet her. It is never easy to see them go, but we know in our hearts they really don't want to leave but must. She is home again and someday she will be there to great us when our day comes to go home again. My thoughts and prayers are with you all Margret, Shirley, Karen and Randy plus the extended family. Rest Now Aunty you had a busy life....

Karen I am not sure if you remember me we went to school at St Joseph and WHS. I am so sorry to hear of your moms passing. I will keep her and all of you in my prayers. When I am back in Williston and drive by your old house it makes me smile. When I saw the one picture of your mom in younger years it is exactly as I remember her. I hope that with time the pain of loss will pass and all the happy memories will bring you peace.
