Juanita Clark
September 30, 1961 - June 10, 2016

Residence: Williston, North Dakota

Juanita Clark, 54 of Williston, North Dakota passed away peacefully at her residence on Friday, June 10, 2016. Funeral services are pending with Fulkerson Stevenson Funeral Home in Williston.

Juanita (Nita) Kay Clark was born in Williston, ND on September 30th, 1961, the well-loved daughter of Harvey and Violet (Simoneau-Renshaw) Buchanan. From the moment of her arrival, it was clear that she was a gift from God. She was a rainbow baby, and was the twinkle in her Irish father’s eye and the living prayer of her mother. She married Bruce Clark in 1982. The two had three living children, Isaiah, LeeAnn, and Hope. They divorced in 2008.

Nita was pure light. She radiated love and compassion. A smile and a “Hello there!” from Nita felt like the warm summer sun. She was passionate about helping other in big and little ways. If you told her you were low on blankets or needed a coffee table then sure enough, Nita would show up the next day with a thrift shop treasure or a rummage sale find, and it would be exactly what you wanted. She was a self-proclaimed fighter for people with disabilities. She adamantly insisted that individuals be seen as whole humans rather than labeled with the diagnosis or disability.

Nita had a silly, kooky sense of humor and her goofball antics were enjoyed by all; particularly by the Trappers Kettle family that she worked with for many years. Her mischievous giggle made you both nervous and delighted; especially when Wendy Valla, her soul sister, was around. In Wendy, Nita truly found an eternal playmate and sister of the heart.

Five years ago, she met the love of her life, Reyes. The moment Reyes saw Nita, his heart started racing. He knew they were meant to be. What followed were the happiest most joy-filled years of Nita’s life. The love Nita and Reyes shared was extraordinary, the substance of fairy tales.

Nita was diagnosed with cancer on September 30th, 2015, her birthday. During her illness, all the good deeds Nita did for others in her life came back to her tenfold. Angels appeared from all over the community to help Nita prepare for her next adventure. Leszek and Diana Jaszczak, Brenda Clark, Janelle Olson, Karli Keck, and Liz Seven were rocks of strength and endless wells of help for Nita and her family.

Nita made a lasting impact on everyone that she met. She will live on forever in the hearts of her family and friends: the love of her life, Reyes; her children Isaiah and LeeAnn of Williston, and Hope of Minot; her mother Violet of Williston; her honorary children Perla, Ivon, Kennia, Maribel, Luis, Giovanni, and Stevee Lee; honorary grandchildren Angel, David, Alex, Jared, Alexa, Karma, Cash, Lupita, Jade, Sergio, Alberto, Pamela, Diego; her sister in law Brenda (Rick); her nephews Jesse and Shawn (Dawn); and nieces Faith and Hailey.

Nita had several people in heaven waiting for her with open arms: Her father, Harvey; Grandmother Agnes (Simoneau) Renshaw; son Jonathan Edward; and her soul sister, Wendy.
