Earl Haugenoe, 71, of Williston, ND, passed away at St. Alexius Hospital in Bismarck, ND, after a long struggle with cancer on Tuesday, June 7, 2016. Fulkerson Stevenson Funeral Home of Williston is assisting the family.

Earl was born to Richard and Violet (Monson) Haugenoe on April 3, 1945 in Crosby, ND. On January 9, 1965, he was united in marriage to Cheryl Berg in Columbus, ND.

Earl worked for several electrical contractors in the area before starting Earl’s Electric in Williston in 1984. A highlight of his career was going on a service call to a drilling rig in Kazakstan. He often said his work was his hobby and he cherished the friends he made in the oilfield.

Earl played the banjo and at the age of 13, he and his sisters were playing for dances and variety shows in the area. Summer visits from family meant jam sessions wherever they happened to be. Keeping the equipment and vehicles running was a job Earl thoroughly enjoyed. The grandkids can tell stories about the sometimes odd materials he used. He also enjoyed spending time at Blacktail Dam and traveling around the country.

Earl is survived by his wife of 51 years, Cheryl, 2 sons, Randy (Karla) and Robert (Tracey); grandsons, Kyle (Carissa), Brandon, Kody (Shelby) Camden (Hailey) and Mason, only granddaughter Karla, 4 precious great-grandchildren, Taelyn, Addy, Bailee and Jaxson; 3 sisters, Ruby Binde, Irene (Charles) Gustafson and Arlene Gydesen, his family through marriage, Eugene and Eileen Berg, DeAnn Berg, Shannon Sauer, Janet Rahn and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his mother and father-in-law, Odmar and Hazel Berg, his brother, Ronnie and a brother-in-law, Bob Rahn.
