LeRoy L. Unterseher
February 26, 1944 - May 17, 2016

Place of Birth: Killdeer, North Dakota
Residence: Fairview, Montana
Age: 72

LeRoy “Lee” was born on February 26, 1944, the second of five children to Edward and Ione (Wagner) Unterseher on a farmstead near Kildeer, ND. They moved to Fairview where he attended school until his sophomore year. At that time he enlisted into the Navy. He graduated boot camp at the naval training center in San Diego, CA on March 22, 1962. While in the Navy he was able to travel to Japan, Hawaii and many other places in between. He was honorably discharged from active duty on February 1, 1965. After discharge he did various jobs. Some of which were working on a couple of farms in the Fairview area, seismography and truck driving.
Lee enjoyed doing woodworking and working on cars in his garage. He also loved to play cards and listen to “old” time country music. Driving truck was not only a job, but something he loved doing. Lee was a very hard worker. He went to work before the sun came up and did not quit until the sun went down.
Lee was united in marriage Pam Kringen on August 8, 1975 in Sidney, MT. To this union was born two children, Jeremy and Julie. Lee also brought to the family five children from a previous relationship. Lee and Pam were happily married for 38 years. Throughout their 38 years, they went on traveling adventures. Sometimes it would be just the two of them on his motorcycle and other times they would be with the kids in the car. There were times in the motor home to visit family in other states. The ocean could not even stop them as they traveled to Germany while Jeremy was stationed there. During this time, Lee got to visit with some relatives as this is where his family moved from.
Our father, brother, grandfather, uncle and friend went to his heavenly home and was reunited with his wife and other family members. He had an infectious personality that we will never forget. We love you dad!!
LeRoy died on Tuesday morning, May 17, 2016 at his home in Fairview, MT surrounded by his family.

I'm so sorry for your loss. Both Leroy and Pam were very special individuals. Both were kind, compassionate, and caring. They made the world a special place. One could not be in the room with them, without a sense of joy. They had an up-lifting spirit, that enriched all of our lives. I will always remember Leroy's kind and endearing smile, and his love for his family and all that had the honor of making his acquaintance. His sense of humor and contagious laugh was endearing. He is now with the love of his life. I can not imagine your grief, and my heart aches for you. I have been praying for all of you, and will continue to do so. May God comfort you at this time.

With Love

Julie, Dallon and family, we are saddened to hear the passing of Lee. We just wanted to say it must have taken a special person to take care of Lee in his final days. I'm sure Lee was happy with Dallon being that person. May God bless you all

Myself and the Emergency Services staff members send their deepest regrets to the family and friends of Mr. LeRoy Unterseher. In working with his sone Jeremy here at Scott Air Force Base, we see the family strength of character and know Mr. Unterseher had a hand in building that. LeRoy's legacy lives on in his son and grandkids. May the good Lord bless, keep, and strengthen the Unterseher Family.
