Edna Pearl Jensen
January 14, 1932 - August 2, 2024

Place of Birth: Richland County, Montana
Residence: Sidney, Montana
Age: 92

Edna P. (McGinnis) Jensen, 92, went to her heavenly home on Thursday, August 2, 2024. Edna was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend to many. She was born at home on a cold winter day in the hills of Charlie Creek, MT on January 14, 1932, to Clifford and Beulah (Hackley) McGinnis. She attended a country school her first years of school and then went to high school and graduated from Sidney High School.

She met the love of her life, G. Donald (Don) Jensen and they married on August 20, 1950. The couple moved many times in their first few years of marriage. During this time, they began their family with son Allen being born, followed by daughter Donna, and another daughter, Peggy completing the family.

Work would take them to Illinois, and then further east to Virginia for several years. Montana finally called them back home in 1972 and they have been settled in the Sidney area ever since. All the while Edna was alongside Don in every endeavor. She worked for Jensen Drywall as bookkeeper and transitioned into being a rancher’s wife when they moved back to Montana. She especially loved it when they had horses and getting to work with the colts. When retirement time came, she was a faithful partner in the fishing boat. Edna was recently asked how she managed to stay married for 73 years and she told the person that they had always been ‘Buddies’.

All the while, Edna’s first priority before any kind of job was her faith in God and her family. She was so devoted to each of them and truly would do anything possible for her children. A part of Edna died the day she lost her son Allen. She was able to find comfort and joy with her remaining family. With 13 grandchildren, Dennis Jensen, Rick Jensen, Wade Jensen, Karen Jensen Overman, Zack Jensen, Brian Tobias, Jill Tobias Lee, Hanna Tobias Hawkins, Kevin Tobias, Gretchen Tobias Lee, Kurt Tobias, Justin Hall and Nikki Hall and 26 great grandchildren, her cup has been full of love and happiness.

Edna was a member of Sidney Assembly of God Limitless Church. She served in just about every area throughout the years, as long as it wasn’t the front and center. She was always content to be in the background, working in the kitchen, the set up and clean-up crew, and rocked many babies in the nursery. She loved children and taught Sunday School for many years. She had a tremendous faith in Jesus as her Savior and has passed that heritage down to her family. She prayed continually for each one of them.

She is survived by her husband Don, daughters Donna (Craig) Tobias and Peggy (Craig) Hall, sisters Betty Larsen and Bessie Diede, her grandchildren and great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents Clifford and Beulah McGinnis, brothers Charles and Albert McGinnis, sisters Margaret Salvevold, Joan Sommers, and Rhonda Smith, son Allen, and infant great grandson Job.

Her legacy lives on in her family. She will be deeply missed and never forgotten.
