Richard Ober of Williston, North Dakota was born to Pearl (Douglas) and Elizabeth Ober on March 18, 1939 in Seaside Oregon.

Richard attended school through the 9th grade in Rio Dell, CA. He worked as a heavy equipment operator (Caterpillar) and took great pride in his work. He was very artistic with his work and was able to do what other operators could not. He was particular about making sure his cuts were precise and straight.

Richard met Phyllis Breazeale in Fortuna in 1968; they married the following year on July 11, 1969 in Reno Nevada. Richard and Phyllis had two sons Joseph and Richard.
Richard was preceded in death by his parents, brother Douglas and grandson Thomas.

He will be sadly missed by his wife Phyllis; sons, Joseph (Heidi) and Richard William (Marlena); brother, James and sisters, Cathy Gadell and Penny Owens. Richard is also survived by three grandchildren Joseph, Joshua and Micah; as well as four great grandchildren

Richard was the best cat skinner id ever seen I set chokers behind Richard such a nice gut to work with he was a great friend
