It Is Our Privilege And Purpose To Serve You
Darlene Jensen
September 15, 1934 - September 17, 2019

Residence: Stanley, North Dakota

Darlene Mrytle (Olson) Jensen was born September 15, 1934, at home in Bowbells, ND. She was the 13th of 15 children born to Albert and Mrytle (Bormuth) Olson. She passed peacefully into God’s arms on September 17, 2019, surrounded by her loving family.

She was raised and educated in Bowbells, graduating in 1952. As a senior in High School, she met Roy Jensen of Powers Lake and knew from that moment that she was going to marry him. While waiting for Roy’s discharge from the Army, Darlene worked in the ASCS office in Bowbells. Roy and Darlene were married June 30, 1955. They celebrated their 64th anniversary this past June. They resided in numerous places before settling in Powers Lake permanently. While Roy farmed and worked in the oil fields, Darlene sold Avon, clerked auction sales, and raised their three children.

Darlene loved her family. She was a wonderful sister, wife, mother, aunt, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She loved being around people, especially the babies. She had the wit and humor that kept us in stitches.

Darlene never sat still. She loved music. You could always hear her beautiful voice. She enjoyed square-dancing and waltzing with her sisters. She did sit down long enough to snowmobile, crochet, design silk flower bouquets, put puzzles together and play solitaire.

The family would like to thank those caregivers at Somerset Assisted Living and Mountrail Bethel Home for the loving care and attention shown to their mom.
Blessed to have shared in her life are her husband, Roy; daughters, Diana (Mike) Thingstad, Ronda (Bill) Kuster; son, Leslie (Rhonda) Jensen; 11 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; sisters, Martha McLean and Lora (Mickey) Schultz and brother, Robert Olson.

Darlene was preceded in death by her parents, her eleven brothers and sisters and great-granddaughter, Kennedy Marie Karna.

We are so sorry to hear that Darlene is gone from this life, but we rejoice with you in the truth that she has entered into that new and perfect life in the presence of the Lord she so loved. Darlene and Roy, as well as all the Jensens made our time at Bethel Baptist so special. May God bring you His peace and comfort in the days ahead.
