Bobby Evans, 68, of rural Alkabo, ND, passed away at his residence, Saturday morning, May 11, 2019, after a short battle with cancer.

Bobby Wayne Evans was born on August 12, 1950 to William Scritchfield and Patricia Courtney. They moved to Kansas City, Kansas and would later divorce. His mother remarried to William Evans, who would later adopt Bobby.

Bobby attended and graduated from Rosedale High school in 1968. In 1969, he would enlist in the Army for four years, which he spent in Germany. In 1974, he married and had two wonderful boys, Brandon and “Scott”. That marriage ended in 1979. He would remarry in 1980, and move to Alaska where he loved to hunt and fish and take part in other outdoor activities.

In 2006, Bobby moved to North Dakota and married the love of his life, Arlene Swenson on September 1, 2009.

Bobby is survived by his mother, Patricia Davis of Sublimity, OR; his beautiful loving wife, Arlene Swenson of Williston, ND; sons, Scott Evans and family of Anchorage, AK and Brandon Evans and family of Jasper, Alabama; daughters, Grace “Joan” (Jack) Green of Anchorage, AK, Marisa Ruddell of Anchorage, AK; stepsons, Sean Hotchkiss of Mandan, ND and Michael Hotchkiss of Bismarck, ND; brothers, Billy (Diane) Evans of Buckeye, AZ and Buddy Evans of Loraine, TX; ex-wife, Cheryl Evans, Anchorage, AK; 20 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his father, Bill Scritchfield; sister, Virginia Sielman and great-grandchild, Sean Paul Thomas.

Arlene and family,
I am so honored that I got to meet Bobby. The few rides we had when it was just the two of us, he told me many stories, and I really got to know what a great life he had, and how much he loved Arlene! So sad he had to go through this! Prayers for you all!
