My husband, Tim Spaabeck, loved Rocky like a brother. They spent many years working together in the oilfield including traveling and roommates when the job took them too far from home. Rocky’s passing would have broken his heart. In this respect, I am glad that Tim passed first. I can see them now in heaven joking together once again. Rocky will be missed here on earth. Wishing peace and comfort to all of his family and friends.

Rocky was a true friend. When we were Freshman, I had a serious head injury and missed months of school. Although I hadn’t known Rocky for a long time, he showed his true colors on my first day back at school. While I was an observer in P.E. class on that first day, a boy threw a volleyball across the gym, it hit me in my head, my knees bucked and I went to the floor. Rocky saw what happened, took the boy to the locker room and it was said made him “pay for his actions.” Rocky’s display of kindness and true friendship remain forever etched in my memory.
