To Heidi’s family, I am so sad to hear of her passing. I didn’t know that she was going through this awful cancer crap. Heidi will always be remembered by all who have had the privilege to have met her. She had a personality that was so bright and upbeat. Her smile was so beautiful. She had a gift to make the grumpiest person smile and/or laugh. She always had a twinkling sparkle in her eyes. Sometimes it made you think “Oh no, what does she have up her sleeve???” She was one of the funniest people that I have ever known. Cherish all your memories with and of her. Now that she is no longer in pain and not suffering anymore, she has been set free, to be a part of Gods beautiful garden.
RIP Heidi and let your wings soar through the skies
Thank you for being you Heidi, you will be missed by sooo many people.

I find myself reflecting on Heidi after learning of her passing. Heidi was always involved in activities. One that wasn't mentioned was playing softball. We played together many, many years. I was one of the players that was on the softball team along with Laura Webb, Kris Rehak, Tammy & Kim Bethke, Dorothy Moline and myself, and a few more that I unfortunately I can't remember. We got a sponsor called Macabar. They bought us white hats. We never any uniforms, just hats. We were happy with that. We were a bunch of girls who loved to play ball. I remember Heidi was quite the hitter. She was able to place hit that ball wherever needed! It might have been right-field, left-field, center.... Our team reminded me of the show, "Sandlot." We just played ball and didn't even need a coach! We did have a couple of supporters who came to each and every game. They were Heidi's Dad, Ronny Ryan and my Grandfather, Francis Johnson. They both, never missed a game! They both cheered us on and brought their bike horns and honked and honked for us and kept cheering us on every game! May Heidi's incredible life be a reminder to us all that one Person CAN make a difference!

Thoughts and condolences to Heidi's family & close friends. I know her passing is a huge loss for so many. I've known Heidi for as long as I can remember- being a part of the 11th Avenue gang of kids who roamed those streets in the 60's & 70's! So many great memories & funny Heidi-isms that keep me smiling. I know Heidi's faith was so important to her and she's now resting with God, the angels & all the loved ones that went before her.

Ed, Jim and Family our prayers and Sympathy,
We met Heidi when she worked at UPS with my husband Larry. They were talking about softball one day, and Otto mentioned that his wife liked to play.
Heidi immediately said her team was good and that I would have to try out! I went to practice, made the team, and from that moment on a wonderful friendship began-one that filled endless hours with my family. During our 2nd season of softball, I took a bad hop that knocked me over. Heidi came running, telling me to stay down because I was bleeding! Of course, I was trying to get up to get the ball! She said "I'm going to puke-stay down! (we all knew she did not like the sight of blood) Long story short, I had broken my jaw and pushed teeth back in my mouth. When she brought our daughters home that night. We were upset the umpire didn't stop the game-they won with the 2 runs that came in while I was on the ground!
We shared so many memories: making French muffins with Kirk Thompson and teaching Angela and Alison how to make them -muffins we all loved.
Trips together to Bismarck, Fargo and lake.
Us coming to Williston when she played the infamous Nun role. She loved Entertainment Inc. and their productions, as well as choir and bells at church. She would send videos of the choir and was so excited when the church got its new organ- that brought her such joy.
When Heid was in the hospital, I sent her a plant, months later, she sent a photo of it and proudly boasted how well it was doing! (I was never much of an indoor plant person) I had once given her seeds from my 4 O'clock plant during a visit, and she grew them beautifully. She always joked that she grew plants better than I did. Our frienndship had plants-literally.
She made several crossstich pictures, but the one that I have cherished the most was "Friends Forever". I will miss her compassion, her sense of humor, her faith and most of all her friendship. She always wanted us to meet her friends-saying "My friend will be your friend".
On our last call, she told me that the next time we would see each other would be in heaven. I asked what was going on and always evading question, she kept telling me, "Just remember all our memories".
When Kirk messaged me asking if I had heard anything about Heidi, I said No. I texted her , and Jim responded that she had passed. I was Heartbroken. We all have our memories of her, I know I will cherish every one of ours.

I thoroughly enjoyed her ability to keep a monotone voice and straight-face while sharing a good joke or crazy story, her unique laugh, her impression of her pug Maynard, and the way she taught us to embrace our individuality and unique talents by just being her authentic self. She thought it was fantastic when I chose to play the tuba for band, and to this day one of the songs I have memorized on piano is Thy Word by Amy Grant, which she taught me when I was young. A few days ago it was my birthday and for the first time in 40+years I didn’t have her traditional happy birthday signature….High D with a note drawn in the position of a high D on a music staff. It is such a gift to hold these memories in our hearts now that she is on her next great adventure. We will miss her greatly!

Jim and family,
My thoughts are with you as you work through losing Heidi.
It made me smile to learn that one of her instruments was bagpipes. A rare talent.
