Allen was a couple years behind me in high school. Had a few good times together. Ran into him a few times over the years. Worked with him a few times in the oil field. He was always a good guy, fun to be around. He will be missed. God bless..

Worked with Allen numerous years in oil patch and later on met up with him farming in Gregoria area. Was always a fun guy to be with. Enjoyed the years working at Noble Drilling with him. Will be missed! Rest in peace my friend.

I will miss AL as he stayed with Scott during the summer. We had many a visits over the fence. In the early years, I would tease him about the tobacco crop, since he would throw the butts into the street in front of my house. It took several years to convince that AL was not a "scarey man" but was a gentle giant.

One of the last times that I talked to Mr. Haugen before he moved to Arizona was one of the funniest interactions I've ever had.

Mr. Haugen had a tendency to go for a walk after dark. He was walking on Pheasant Run Parkway one night as I was patrolling the neighborhood.

I saw Mr. Haugen walking and rolled down the passenger side window and asked him if he was lost. I think that i startled him because he started out "No sir, I'm just going for a walk" and then he realized who I was, and we had ourselves quite a long conversation.

A childhood memory that I have of Mr. Haugen was that he bought Scott the GI Joe aircraft carrier. Definitely the only time in my life that I actually got to see and touch that thing if real life. Scott was the envy of every GI Joe playing child in Williston at the time. Definitely earned the dad of the year award that Christmas.

Mr. Haugen thank you for your service!

You will be missed.

I worked with Allen's son, Scott, for five years at 660KEYZ News Radio in Williston before moving to East Tennessee in the fall of 2022. While I never had the chance to meet Allen, Scott always beamed when speaking of his dad and sharing stories of their times together which often included some great advice. May he rest in peace. I know he'll be truly missed. My sympathies to my friend, Scott and the family. Robin

Allen and I spent a lot of time together in the Army. We went through three phases of training together at Ft. Belvoir and later meet up for awhile in Vietnam. He was a great friend and we had so many good times together. Love you Brother
