Darlene was a very kind and caring person. Would often visit her and Frankie with my Grandma Cora. I remember they used to walk to visit each other on a trail over what we called the ridge. I remember one time when Darlene came over and I had to take her home in the grain truck. I think she was a little apprehensive as I was probably about 14 and didn't have my license yet. Well she got in the truck and we started to drive. About half a mile down the road smoke started filling the cab. I had forgotten to take off the parking brake. The look on her face was priceless. We had it home and she always remembered that trip. RIP Darlene...

When Darlene lived in the house. She would walk to get the mail and she'd stop at my house to take a little rest. Her chats always put a smile on my face. Then she moved into the assistant living housing and my grandma lived there to. You'd here Julie get down here I need you to do something. I really enjoyed Darlene. She knew how to make my day. I know she'd say something to me and all I could do was smile at her. Then she'd look up and smile back. I want you to know that she is still there. Bossing us around and making us smile. She will be greatly missed.
