I met Roy as a fellow member of the staff at UND Williston. He could make a strong pot of "cowboy coffee"! My sympathy to his family. I always appreciated his willing attitude to take on projects with his Students, his zest for life, and his genuine personality.

Ah, he was one the finest people I’ve known. He was my brother’s best friend and there was a reason for that…two of a kind…gentlemen in the true sense of the word. His family has my most significant thoughts for a peaceful grieving. Jim zhsugen Helena

Sorry to hear of your loss. I knew both of your parents and worked with your mom in Williston. I loved to watch your parents dance. They would always stop what they were doing and visited. They left a mark in our hearts and will be missed.

Roy and I taught at Richey HS many years ago. He came to Richey as a Shop/Ag teacher for a period of time to fill in for another teacher and did such a wonderful job. His students had a lot of respect for him and by the time he left, the entire staff was so sorry to see him leave. Roy was such a friendly, knowledgeable man who had a wonderful sense of humor and loved to share thoughts and ideas with others. What a fine educator among so many other things!

So many memories the ones that come to mind are all the Barn Dances at Simonson's Barn - when the Airborn came through Sidney tracing the Lewis and Clark expedition all the old AIrborne members around Sidney had them out to the barn because as they stated once Airborne always Airborne and of course the rodeo from Little Britches through High School Roy was always there to lend a hand and cheer on his kids as well as whom he had ever met. RIP Roy you've left behind a very big pair of boots to be filled.

Roy is dancing in heaven! Dancing at the Moose are forever memories! We had a delightful time after doing a musical service at the church followed by a visit to Roy's shop. The back scratcher he gave us still gets good use and a reminder of the wonderful times with Roy & Evelyn. With our sympathy, C'Dale & Phil Jore
