So sorry for your loss. Our family only knew Brad for a short time as he traveled to many Blue Hawk football games with the Rice family. He loved to tailgate and enjoyed watching the games and of course the post game time on the field win or loss after the game. He was a wonderful reminder of how wins and losses will come and go but friendships leave a lasting positive impact on life.

My heart goes out to you all, his family and friends. I know this is a sorrowful time for the whole community as he was such a pleasure to be around, everyone knew Brad and if you didn’t he was quick to politely introduce himself. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. I was one of Brad’s teachers when he was 6. I was Miss Anderson then. Brad was the cutest and sweetest little boy. We made caramel rolls and churned butter from fresh farm cream. They were delicious. I remember visiting with you Faye. I am so glad that he had so many wonderful times in his life with his family, grandparents and friends.

Faye, Arlo, Brian, Brent, and Borud Family,

I was deeply saddened to learn this week of Brad's passing. My hope is that these days of grief will pass quickly, to be replaced by warm memories of the smiles and laughter you shared with Brad. Faye, the stories you shared during the eulogy at the Brad's funeral were thoughtful and touching. You so perfectly framed Brad's warm and gentle nature. I can only imagine how much better the world would be if more people could match Brad's kindness, compassion, and strong work ethic.

If there is a farm in Heaven, I bet Brad and Sam are walking through a wheat field right now. Caesar is trotting along their side. Brad is carrying some colorful, oddly shaped rocks that Sam picked up from the field: soon to be additions to the collection around the back deck of the Hartland house. Brad and Sam are both in their “happy place.”

Sincere condolences and best wishes to you all,

Jeff Johnson
