To the Weyrauch Family:
Ross and I are proud and honored to have been a couple of Bob's Weyrauch's Montana friends! While we were never able to make the trek to North Dakota (due to chronic health conditions), we know the Weyrauch Family through Bob's countless (and tall?) family tales! We can almost hear Harvey's accordion playing in Heaven and almost see Bob dancing. One of our favorite hymns is, "I'm Going to Stroll Over Heaven with You", Alan Jackson performs it well, but we're sure it sounds better in Heaven on Harvey's accordion, although we wonder about Bob's singing! We extend our prayers, love and fond laughter to the Weyrauch Family!

I worked at Bethel Home in the Activity Dept. for several years, both as an Activity aide and the Activity Director. Oh, what joy Harvey brought to our residents, staff, and visitors. You could often HEAR Harvey, his distinctive voice and laugh, before you could SEE him. Looking at his wide smile and bright eyes while he was entertaining, you know he enjoyed providing this music, just as much as his audience enjoyed listening to it. He made the days of so many, so much brighter when he showed up to volunteer. My sympathy is with you all during this very sad time.

Aurita and family,
I am so sad to learn of Harvey's passing. He was one of Mom's(Mildred Helgeson) favorite entertainers. She was so happy to have him play at her 90th birthday party. I can only imagine how excited she is to see him again. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

To all the family - we have had the great honor and privilege to be part of quite a few "family" gatherings during holidays over the years. Harvey will be remembered for the soft spoken, kind man who would suddenly disappear during these family gatherings (napping I'm told) lol. Then back again for conversation and food. Jim has known him maaannnyy years and has great memories of the farm and purchase of one of his German Shepherds and the "girls" when they were younger. We will always have these special and wonderful memories. Thanks to all of you for including us! We love you all!

Weyrauch family: We will all miss Harvey - another life-long Ray resident! For all those years he and Aurita and family sat just a couple rows in front of our family in church, and never missed a Sunday. Each and every trip into town and back to our farm was driven past your farm, and we’d always honk if we saw Harvey outside! I will never forget Harvey’s broad smile, his great laugh, his love of music, his love of horses (and riding still into his 90’s!) and his love for his family. We have sure been praying for him and your mom since they had to move to Tioga. Even though he’s in a better place now, it’s still hard saying good bye. So, let’s just say “until we see you again”! Thinking of you all!

I have many fond memories of Harvey and Aurita as a young child. Harvey used to visit my fathers farm and sneak me as many salt water taffy candies as he possible could. He and his wife were the sweetest humans, and as brief as my time with them was— I vividly remember happy memories. Love and lots of hugs from my family and I in this time of grieving.

My mom, Julie, is one of Harvey’s brother Frank’s kids. I have sweet memories of visiting Harvey and Aurita at the farm when I was small. My own daughter, a city kid, has loved to hear my stories over the years about getting to pet real llamas and see peacocks! Harvey was a truly special person who brought joy to many people throughout his life; may we all be so lucky to create such happiness in the world.

It's hard to know quite where to begin as living so close to both Uncle Harvey and Aunt Aurita as well as many of the cousins and extended family lead to many adventures growing up.

I think often about all of the fun times we had out at the farm as kids. Checking out the animals (especially the peacocks), getting pooped on by the pigeons, riding in the buggy, eating fresh divinity (thanks Aurita), always something polka or some accordion playing.

Then there were the parades. Every year we were always placing bets to see which critter(s) Harvey was going to be riding in the Ray parade and a bonus was always if Aurita was riding with him. We were never disappointed.

Another favorite will always be Harvey's 80th birthday party. That was my now husband John's first trip out to ND. I introduced John to Harvey and with a slight twinkle in his eye Harvey asks John "Have you kissed her? You know if you've kissed her you have to marry her." I guess Harvey's charm must have worked as John and I will have been married for 10 years in 2021. Haha.

We will always cherish the memories. You are all in our thoughts and prayers. Uncle Harvey was such a ray of sunshine and will be missed.

Aurita, I had the pleasure of meeting you and Harvey through my work. The first time I stopped by you were picking berries in the yard. I got a cold drink and I got to hear the story behind each picture in the living room. Another day Harvey played the accordion for me. Sorry to hear of your loss of this grand gentleman.

Our deepest sympathy to you all at the loss of Harvey. Truly a legend. I remember the first time we saw him riding Lucky, his steer. "He's lucky he isn't hamburger". Loved his sense of humor. He will be greatly missed.

To the Weyrauch family,
I’m so sorry to learn of Uncle Harvey’s passing. The world has lost one of the great men. He left a mark on all who spent time with him or out at the farm. It was so much fun coming to see you when I was a child and then later bringing my own kids out to the farm to visit. Harvey always had time for people, but was especially patient with the kids in his later years. He will be missed. My condolences to your family.

Harvey and Aurita were lifelong neighbors of my parents, and Harvey was mom's cousin. I have many memories of our families getting together when we kids were all young. It was back in the day when weekends were spent visiting neighbors and friends. The adults would visit and play cards and we kids would entertain ourselves with games or playing records on the phonograph and singing. One time we were feeling especially creative and put together and performed a play for our parents. Harvey had a love for animals and knew how to care for them. If my dad had a problem with one of his cows, Harvey was the person he called for advice. Les always thought Harvey was one of the friendliest guys in the Ray community. There is no doubt that Harvey, my parents and so many others from their generation are having a great reunion in heaven!

Hugs and Prays to all you. The memories that stand out for us are Harvey riding his Steer with a halter in the Grain Palace parade, also his talent in playing his accordian and singing. During our visits at Tioga Long Term Care we witnessed your parents strong bond and expressions of true Love. RIP Harvey

Growing up I use to visit almost every other year and it was a trip I looked forward to each time. I loved staying out at the farm and having Paula stay with me too. I remember sleeping on the couch one night because I wanted to be up in time to help with morning chores (he let me sleep though lol). I remember lots of riding horses, rode Tony the Llama once, lots of chickens, peacocks, pigeons, Butch and Lady the dogs, lots of cows, and even one year a baby racoon.
One of my favorite stories to tell is one summer a storm was coming. Paula and I were upstairs at the farm, I was scared because it was so windy. It started to hail, Aurita lit some palm and we prayed for it to quit hailing. Harvey went out in his truck to check the crops while we stayed at the house. Before he left, we heard what we thought was coyotes singing. As it turned out, it was the alarm going off for a tornado. Harvey was so worried about his crops.
I remember many times going to the land with the treasures to see what Harvey could find and one time he brought home an old sign full of light bulbs. He wasn't sure what he was going to do with it but knew he would use it as some time.
I'm very glad I got to spend the time with him that I did and will never forget it. Love to you all!!

When Harvey smiled, it was from ear to ear. Also a wonderful laugh. Reckon he was about 80 and we were visiting about his accordion. He said “you know I’m a better player now than I was a year ago.” He said he practiced several times a week because he wanted to continue to get better. That still amazes me. What a great attitude for someone of that age.
He was a great story teller and he had good ones. They had to be true because they were exactly the same the tenth time as the first.
Robert always had something going on and if not would create some excitement. My Mom was a year younger and raised several miles from Harvey. She said Robert was just like Harvey.

Harvey’s kindness and joy in life will never be forgotten! The love that he and Aunt Aurita shared is the kind you only read about in Western Romances, one that stood the test of time and many trials. His little brother, my dad Frank, had a similar blue twinkle in his eyes and gentle smile. I think we all learned about kindness, love and joy from Harvey. May we sprinkle a little of his sunshine each and every day - Lord knows this world needs it. I like to think of him up in heaven, playing music, reconnecting with old friends and caring for animals. May the music always play on! Family of Harvey, our deepest sympathy to you all. Wish we could give you a hug and a shoulder to lean on.

I am sorry to see Harvey go. It's a great loss to our family, to his friends, to the community, to us all. He always brought a bit of happiness into everyone's day with a joke, a story, a song, or a good natured teasing(given with a smile on his face and in his eyes). And always smiling will be how i remember him.
The love that I always felt from Aurita and Harvey whenever I visited is a comfort in these times, the fun that he tried to bring into everyone's life is the memory we should hold onto, and the joy in the world that he had is something we should all try to live.
I love you Aurita, I am thinking of you and I miss you. Find peace in the love of your family and the prayers of everyone that misses Harvey.

Where to start!? Oh how I’d like to go back in time, for just a week or so. What a joy it was to get together on Sunday nights with the neighbors. We were all actually more like siblings than neighbors. Harvey & Aurita taught us so many ‘life skills.’ With a twinkle in his eye & a big smile we learned from Harvey that anything can be ‘reused’; that it’s ok to take a few chances along the way; everyone makes mistakes & should be given a second chance. I was fortunate to be a classmate of Robert’s so was able to experience the ‘extra bells & whistles’ he & Harvey added to vehicles! (We had a lot of fun switching on the lights & pulling over classmates as well as strangers!) The one thing I will never forget (or forgive!?) Harvey for was when he talked me into eating his chicken & after the fact informed me it was rabbit! Rabbit....have never looked at them the same!! I feel great sadness driving past Harvey & Aurita’s (& Sonny’s & Dahl’s & Bennie’s) but also great joy & appreciation that I was blessed being raised ‘south of town’ with the best of neighbors. May God comfort each of you. Hang on to all those wonderful memories & life lessons that you were lovingly taught.

Uncle Harvey will be missed. He is truly one of the good guys.
We have great memories with him, him playing his accordion at lake 5 and getting our 5 year old daughter Tessa to sing and dance with him.
Another time was at Joe and Kristen's wedding in Belt where Uncle Harvey played with the band! So much fun. His smile was so contagious.
We love you and will miss you. Big Hugs for all of the family.

To the entire Weyrauch family, Please know that you are loved. Harvey was indeed a special man, his warmth, kindness and caring will never be forgotten. What a team, Harvey and Aurita, God Blessed You with a long marriage and sooooo much love. I would go with my mom and dad to your house, there would be music, card playing, food, and laughter. No matter how long you had been gone from Ray, Harvey and Aurita never forgot you. I was in the Golf clubhouse and I heard "Linda". There they were both smiling!! My last wonderful visit with them. My dad too played the accordion, and this night I'm thinking another very special accordion player, Harvey Weyrauch, is making beautiful music up in Heaven. Till we meet again, Rest in Peace.

A visit to Uncle Harvey in Early 1980's, fall hunting season. He took my brother Kelly and me out to shoot some ducks. I said I don't have a ND hunting license. He said we don't need one when we hunt with him on his land. And there is no limit either. Won't say here what we came home with. I know our dad, Uncle Harvey's brother Ken, was looking down from heaven giving us the thumbs up! Just one of many fun times.

I'm sorry you left this earth, but am glad you had a long and loving life. I am so lucky to have the honor of calling you my great grandpa. You made my summers more amazing than I could have ever imagined, visiting North Dakota was always something I looked forward to as a kid, and even through my teen years up until I was an adult. Especially because I knew I would be able to see the farm. I will always keep you in my heart, I will always tell people how my great grandpa was a light in a world full of dark, and how you could make anyone laugh, smile, or just feel better. So many memories, I will never forget the love you exuded unto others. The lessons you taught, the jokes, the animals, the music, everything I love today is partly because of you. I will miss you, forever and always.

Aunt Aurita and all my family that I cant be with today...I'm so sorry for your loss, I love you all and wish I could be there with you!

Visiting your Uncle Harvey and Aunt Rita's Farm was one of the biggest highlights growing up! We loved the array of animals, including a llama and porcupine, chickens and pigeons, horses, and more. Uncle Harvey's love of children and animals is legendary, and his big wide grin with sparkling eyes was infectious. I recall being around 9 years old or so and was super self-conscious of my oddly small hands. Uncle Harvey took my little hands in his big warm ones, smiled that twinkling smile, and said someday a man would love to hold those hands. Over the sometimes difficult years of growing up and dating, I would often recall that. And you know what? He was so right....I did find that man in my husband, Aaron. It was about 10 years into our marriage before my family met Uncle Harvey and Aunt Rita, but we were blessed to be able to spend a week in Ray 3 summers ago. We went to the nursing home to watch Harvey play his accordion. We sang along, laughed, and danced. My daughter, 9 at the time, was amazed when Uncle Harvey pulled a pigeon out from his trunk afterward. She shared a deep affinity and connection with animals like Uncle Harvey and was thrilled to ride his pony, meet his pet chicken, and greet his menagerie of pigeons. The experience was pure magic for my family, and we have always been so grateful for that precious time. Like Harvey's obituary references, the ripples of his life will continue on and on. His joy and love and kindness will always be with us. We love you forever, Uncle Harvey.
