I knew Ben through the Restorx franchise system. He was a standout. Honest, loyal, smart, with a great sense of humor. He had a true gift for project management. Knowing and working with him was always a pleasure. My deepest sympathies on your loss. I will never forget Ben McDowell.

I first met Ben during the Grand Fork flood losses over 20 years ago and have since worked with his restoration firm RestorX a number of times on other projects. It was my fault that Ben spent much of the summer of 2008 on the University of Iowa campus (another flood)! We became good friends and kept in touch over the years. Our friendship continued to grow even though we rarely got to see each other. We were brothers in a way and I'm so saddened by the loss. He was a special guy in so many ways. So selfless, generous and caring and a personality that filled a room! My condolences to his family and everyone that was close to him. RIP brother.

I worked for Ben at Restorx for a little over 3 years. He was truly like a second dad for me and my brother Lewis. He stood for what was right, would give anyone the shirt off his back to help others, and wasn't afraid to say what was on his mind. He had a tremendous impact on my life, and I will never forget the lessons he taught me.

I new Ben a long time ago, all the way back to the late 70's and early 80's. We worked in the oil fields back then, it was hard work and times were much different. I've always remembered Ben as a hard worker, full of laughter, and had a good sense of humor, we were friends. I send my condolences to his family and friends. I'm sure he will be missed. Rest in peace my friend.

I did not know Ben personally, but had just heard about him and the wonderful person he was. Also to whomever wrote his obituary, it was wonderful to read and match his life up with the Ben I had heard about. Rest in Peace.
