Rick, Diane, & Pam,
Arne & Dorothy were great neighbors & always so good to our family. We recall several times when they kept a watchful eye on our kids as they ventured from town to explore in their trees & barnyard. And the ride in Arnie's hay sled behind a team of not so well broke horses in the middle of the winter, will never be forgotten by our sons who were grateful to escape with their lives! ;)
Arnie & Dorothy leave behind a wonderful legacy of memories, and we are thankful to have been a part of that.

So many fond memories of Arnie! From big chocolate bars for Halloween when I was a kid, to treats of sweets in the nursing home in his last few years. My favorite memory of Arnie happened when I was just out of college. I was walking the dog along the road north of town, and Arnie was out front. We talked briefly and he asked me if I "had seen his tractors" he informed me that they were on display at the heritage park west of town. Again, most ardently, he asked me "have you seen my tractors?" I admitted that I hadn't been to the heritage park for many years. He then took a $5 dollar bill out of his pocket, grabbed my paw, and put it inside. He told me that I just HAD to go see his tractors. He was so kind. Heaven gained an angel. I hope this made you smile. Arnie was a very good man.

Rick, Diane, Pam & family, I am honored to have been one of those on the receiving end of Arne’s life stories. Your dad was one of the most gracious and humble people I have ever met and we will miss him dearly. Your family is in my thoughts and prayers. May he rest in paradise, embraced by his beloved Dorothy, whom he talked about all the time. Xoxo

We're really going to miss Arne - I'm glad I got to see him one more time last Friday. I had lots of visits with him over the last 4 years and he had many stories to tell. He almost always had a smile on his face and was happy. His memory was impressive - he recited quite a bit of the Gettysburg address for me one day after I commented about his framed copy hanging on the wall. When I would get ready to leave his standard saying was always "THANKS FOR STOPPING!" Hugs to all of you - sorry we won't make it for the funeral. Gayle & Mick

Good memories of a good man. I always enjoyed his smile, his stories, and his laugh! I would get to visit with Arne when Pam's parents would come to see them in Billings, and in Columbus. You family was blessed to have him as father and grandfather, and all his other roles.

He is home now and that is a huge comfort for you all. May your faith, and your love for him along with the many memories you have, sustain you now and in the future. With love from Debra

Arne used to come into McKenzie Electric years ago and pay for his water wells. This was a once/yr visit we would have. I treasured those visits. He always had a smile when he came in.....
