Our family is so saddened by John’s sudden passing. Such a good guy and so well known. I have been in 2 Minot businesses in the last year and as I talk to them it always comes around to talk of Ray “and do you know John Thorpe?” It’s always his motorcycle buddies that tell me what a great guy he was. Our sympathies for a tremendous loss to your family

BIG JOHN was in my life growing up he is like family to me. He always made sure to say hi and see how I was. Our long talks about how life has changed and the days of williston when we all would do stuff with the family. He no longer has to deal with pain or sadness now he can ride in the wind as fast as he wants I will miss big John and forever remember him in my heart.

John will be missed by many. Everywhere he went he knew someone. He always had a open door policy. We all could count on him to be there for us if we needed. I have known him for over 25 years. He treated me and my kids like family. My children as well as myself are heartbroken over the loss of such an amazing man. Rest in Peace my friend. You will be missed.

Dianna and Neil, I am so sorry for your loss, far too soon! I didn’t see John much since school days but always enjoyed seeing him, he was a very kind guy! He was the only guy I went to the prom with! Rest In Peace John and greet all our classmates, I think you make # 7! So sad as our class wasn’t that big, 32 graduates!

My cousin John was born on my 6th birthday. Neil and Diana were dropped off at my birthday party before his parents went to the hospital in Williston. I can remember that day. We were so excited to have him come into the world. John, along with Neil and Diana, set the high standard for how to love and treat their mother and each other. I never knew of a cross word to come between them. I treasure the life all of the Anderson cousins had together in Ray. We were close to our grandparents who hosted Sunday dinners after church. Grandma chronicled our youth by taking thousands of photos of us in her yard between the evergreen trees and in front on the hollyhocks. I am sad to say goodbye to John who was always wonderful to my parents, me, my husband and my children. Thank you, Johnny, for generously giving my children their first motorcycle rides......and mine as well. All our love goes to Diana and Neil and the family. Rest in peace, John. God speed.

I am so sorry to hear of John's passing. I worked with him at Jerry Harmon Motors. I always thought of him as a gentle giant. He was such a kind and giving man. I have thought of him often over the years and when I do I smile. He loved his Harley and always had a story to tell. RIP John.
