My thoughts and prayers are with you all! Avis was one of my favorite people and I will miss her sense of humor. She was special to me and a great mentor. My God take her to that special place with all her family that were waiting for her.

We were so sorry to hear of Avis's death. She meant the world to us. From being Buck's teacher as a young man and a great friend to us after we were married. I am saddened to hear about Avis' passing, but so very thankful that I knew her. She was one of the most wonderful and kind people I ever met. She was a true pillar of the Sioux Pass Community.

To Avis's family, may your Mother's memories remain with you forever, she was an amazing person and one heck of a great teacher, I can honestly say if it hadn't been for her my last two years of junior high, 7th and 8th grades at Doran, I would of never made it through High School.
She was a great individual and educator and Friend.
May it be comforting to know she is with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, and she will live in the house of the Lord forever.

I have so many fond memories of Aunt Avis. She was a formative influence for me and so many other children through her career and her kind and generous life.

Aunt Avis was always special to me, and I looked up to her. Even now, I can still hear her laughter. I know she loved all of her family deeply. May God give you peace and comfort.

To all of Alvis family, So sorry for your loss, she will be missed by all. I always looked forward her xmas cards and getting caught up with all the family news. when I would check on Fred we always talked about her . we have lost a lot of amazing people they all have left us all with good examples to follow. sending you all hugs. Our sincerest sympathy to all of you. She was the sweetest lady--I always received her wonderful Christmas letter. I rem so many stories my mother Frances Schmitz Prevost would tell about the childhood days of the Schmitz girls--Avis, Mary, my Mother and mothers sister Cecilia. Pictures of them on Chimney Rock at Bear Valley; and precious times at Charley Creek Their school days were talked about and how my mother loved them so. I only have to look out my window to see an everlasting gift from your Mom. The yellow wild rose bush she gave me years ago. It is in full bloom and beautiful. So many wonderful memories, Thank you Avis.

Condolences to all of the Zoanni family. Aunt Avis was a great influence in my childhood and throughout my life, in my love of flowers, birds, music, and books. I will cherish the memories of her.
