I didn't believe it when I first heard it, then I was linked to this page. I'm shocked to find this wasn't a hoax....I was really hoping it was.

I've known Jake since 2005, we knew each other through an internet forum.

One of the few intelligent, interesting members of the forum. Had some good discussions with him...he was a good guy.

Goodbye, Jake. &T will miss you.

Dear Ted and Donna -----

This is such a sad sad time. I can't find any words to even try to tell you how I feel.

Know that you have our love and support. Know that if I could I would be there beside you with a hug and a coffee and a shoulder. Know that my heart is breaking too and that the pain is shared.

I am sorry I never got to know our Jake as I would have liked, we always think we have all the time in the world.

Love to you both - and to your families.

xoxo

Elva

Donna,
I am so so sorry...last time Jake and all of us spent any time together he was working at the radio station and honored me with a dedication of one of my favorite songs: Benny and The Jets. You could just see the smile on his face and it touched me so much!
Jake you were a cool guy and I enjoyed hanging out with you from time to time, but never often enough it seems.
Do you remember when he and Byron were painting those rocks at Barb's... he painted one with a heart and said he wished he had one for everyone?? He would make everyone happy!! I think he was about 5 or 6yrs old and I thought it was one of the cutest things I had ever heard.
Jake will be terribly missed and we love you!
Kim,Connor and Gavin

I remember one summer when Jake came to visit he was telling about different types of trains but I was way to young to understand it so i just nodded and agreed with him. I am going to remember him forever. Rest In Peace cousin.
11/4/2009 Deanna Fast (Grande Prairie, AB)
It has been quite a few years since I seen Jake, but I remember him as being a real interesting little kid...I was looking forward to getting to know Jake one day as a young man... Jake's loss really puts life into perspective of how much you love the people around you, and how little time you have to show it.
This truly is a tragic loss and I am so sorry Uncle Teddy and Donna, my heart goes out to you and although there is nothing a person can do right now to ease your pain, you will always have your memories...
Love Always,
Deanna xo

I´m so sorry and sad to hear about Jake....

I only met him a few times but always felt I´d liked him very much.

Last time I met him he asked me if we could take a ride in our Porsche convertible, and I did.
The speed and wind made him to the most happy guy I have ever seen and during the ride he looked up at me with beaming eyes and a the cutest smile from ear to ear and said `sweeeet`.....
I will never forget that.

Today my thougts goes to Donna and Jakes relatives.

Björn

Jake, I am at a loss of words bud. I found out this had happened and I was in shock. I've had a hard time this week getting motivated bud. I can't think. It's been hard imagining that I never get to talk to you again. But like all bad things that have happened in my life, I just think to myself that we will all get to have a good time up in heaven. This time it won't be on the guest bed in barbs house. That was one story that stuck with you and I. Sometimes the plans you and I had got a little outrageous. You were never one to back down from anything. Even if were to get in an arguement. But we were always to pull out of it. I am gonna miss you. I only got the one picture of us in the last year but I won't ever forget it. I will always look back at how we had plans to do things as we got older. Neither one of us have followed our plans so far. But I know you will be happy up there because I have some good friends up there that are probably showing you all the fun things there are to do. I write to tell you I miss you like a brother and that you will be missed. Your welcome to visit me anytime. I don't mind talking. Ill probably talk to you a little more then you'd like. I'm starting to get teary eye'd writing to you. I'm so sorry it had to be this way. I love you man. I wish it wasn't this way. There's things I wish I could have done to help more. I'm sorry we didn't get to hang out more while I was in town. It was a blast when we did. Don't have to much fun without me. And don't do anything I wouldn't do or just wait for me. Love you man. I'll see you soon. It's just a temporary goodbye. Bye brother.
11/4/2009 Sarah (Orem, UT)
Jake was the first person to welcome me to a new town and school, Ray; he always had something funny or whitty to say, and I am so sad that the world will have one less amazing person. But as long as we remember him, he will never really be gone.

11/4/2009 Bonnie Johnston (Clearwater, BC, Canada)
Words cannot express my regret and sympathy, Auntie Donna and Uncle Ted, I love you both.
My best memories of Jake are of him staying at our house in the summer months when all us kids were free. I will never forget Jake's laugh, you could hear it a mile away and it always made you smile. During the day we always swam, Jake was quite the water baby. At Dutch Lake or Raft Falls we would dive for pennies and scare away the tourists with our duck itch. (Jake always got it the worst) At night, or as Jake would call "blue time" we would run around playing hide and go seek in the dark or sit by the fire. We always loved it when Jake came down because it meant we got to go for a ride on the miniature train ride that he loved so much.
To Jake: I was looking forward to seeing you again. You were another brother, and I am sad to lose you. You will be greatly missed.
xoxo Bonnie Blue

11/5/2009 Alvina and Gary Skogen (Epping, ND)
Donna - I was Jake's English teacher and class advisor while he was attending school in Ray. I see him sitting in the back row, "hunkered" down in his chair, knowing that he listened to every word I said and every word that we read.
In my teaching career, I would guess Jake was one of the most well-read students I have even encountered; as a result, his writing skills were also amazing. His class was a very diversified group of young people thrust together at that time. I see that some of his classmates have also responded with their appreciation of his friendship.
Please know that we are grieving with you in the loss of Jake.
11/5/2009 Margi & Willy Johnston (Clearwater, BC)

Knowing today is the mostdifficult day of your lives I would like you to know that I'm thinking of you both and grieving with you and the rest of the families.
There aren't words enough to comfort you today. Some wisdom from Jake's grandpa Norman come to mind though. Any time there was something that would tear our souls apart he would simply say " TIME WILL ALWAYS HEAL" and it does. There may be scars but time WILL heal.
Love & God Bless and be with you on this journey.
Bob
