Dear Families of John, I have the fondest memories of John. He would come in for 1 drink when I worked as a bartender, but the visiting we could get accomplished in that time was so much fun. Also the time when I took him to a doctors appointment. We got to Williston and he had me pull into the grocery store, yeah the grocery store, he said you have to come early to get the freshest apple fritters...don't know what we did until his appointment!! Glen remembers John stopping in at our gas station, mainly to visit our german shephard dog. Our deepest sympathy to you all, the memories will help you!!

My favorite memory of John was the day he and Evelyn came into my office in Williston in the mid-80's. His hand was bandaged heavily and I asked him what had happened, fearing he had caught it in a pto or auger. He then told me that he had cut the end of his thumb off on the table saw, while showing one of the grandsons shop safety on a table saw. Said it wasn't the smartest lesson he had ever taught, but he sure was glad he had gloves on because he did not have to see what he knew he had done to himself. Your mother was just shaking her head with that wonderful smile she had and never said a word. Your mother and father both gave me wonderful memories which I keep tucked away safely. Please accept my sympathy.
