A memorial service for Marie Luchi will be 2:00PM Saturday June 8, 2019 at the First Lutheran Church in Watford City, ND. Pastor Mark Honstein will be officiating.

Marie Ann Luchi died June 4, 2019, at the age of 66, after a hard fought battle with cancer. She was born in Cutbank, MT in 1953.

In 1971, she married her love, Jim Luchi. She moved to Watford City in 1980, and started caring for the children of the city. She worked as a daycare provider for 36 years, and she loved all her daycare kids very much.

She leaves behind her wonderful husband Jim, their sons, Curt (Kathi) Luchi of Austin, MN, and Jim (Heather)Luchi of Dickinson, and six grandchildren.

Marie was the first daycare provider I ever took my children to over 20 years ago, they loved going there, she always took such great care of all of the little ones she watched.

Our person, our caretaker, our friend....she was generous beyond words, kind, selfless, loved children & animals, never judged, appreciated the little things, she was patient (thank goodness for Bailey & Lydia's sakes), she loved all the children she cared for beyond description. Yes, Heaven gained a sweet, kind, soft spoken angel....but how does the world of friends go on without that smile, that spirit, that love? Even though the past years, as my children are older, we haven't had the connection of the past....I close my eyes...and I'm right there with her...laughing, getting much needed advice regarding parenting and always the smell and taste of her gifted recipes that she would share with my family when times were tough and we were running the video store. The meals she brought, the caring of Bailey when it was well past 5 pm and Jeff was trucking. Marie, I need to be a better person, so I can see you again with Betty, Curt and someday the love of your life = Jim! You will forever remain an inspiration, a role model...beyond blessed....beyond sad! We pray you are feeling our intense love flowing up to Heaven!

Jim and family. Our family is so sorry to hear about Marie. You and your family always meant so much to us. Marie was a wonderful friend and daycare provider to my kids She will be deeply missed but I am thankful she has no more pain I bet Tim met her as she entered Heavens gates. Dear Jim and Family, We are so sorry to hear about
Marie. We heard at Brian's retirement party that she was very sick and was fighting very hard to remain with her family. It seems like all the good ones leave us!!! I know she will be missed. Just know we are praying for your family. Stay strong!! Love The Bell's
