Randal Baxter, 78, of Culbertson, MT, passed away Monday morning, February 4, 2019 at his Culbertson residence. Fulkerson Stevenson Funeral Home of Williston is assisting the family.

Randal was born March 20, 1940 to Everett and Erma Baxter in Fairview, MT. He attended grade school in Cherry Creek and many days he rode his horse to school or went on the tractor. While attending Culbertson High School, he was studying and raising his own cattle. He graduated with the Class of 1958.
On October 15, 1961, Randal married Karen Olsen at Ebenezer Lutheran Church in Dane Valley and lived in Culbertson for 57 years. To this union three sons were born, Jeffrey, Jerry and Mark. Randal ranched for many years and worked for USDA as a field man for 20 years.
They became members of the Bethel Community Church, where Randal served on the board for many years. He was also a member of the National Guard for several years.
Randal and Karen made many trips to Kentucky and Seattle visiting their children and their growing number of grandchildren. They enjoyed their trip to Hawaii with family and a trip to Branson. He also made many trips to Sidney, MT, for their granddaughters sporting events which he didn’t want to miss. Randal’s health had been failing for the past few years, but he always made his children and grandchildren a top priority.
Randal is survived by his wife, Karen; sons, Jeffrey Baxter of Billings, MT, Jerry (Jolene) Baxter of Sidney, MT., Mark (Ronee) Baxter of Louisville, KY.; grandchildren, Jordan, Jenna , Jaylen, Reagan, Berkeley, Bennett and Will, a new grandson who he didn’t get to meet; brothers, Clarence (Georgia) of Big Sandy, MT., Roger (Sandra) of Chinook, MT.; sisters, Judy (Paul) Alisch of Deer Lodge, MT. and Bonnie (Dick) of Western, MT.
Randal is preceded in death by his parents, Everett and Erma Baxter.
