Thomas "Tom" Lorenz
June 16, 1955 - January 6, 2019

Residence: Sidney, MT

Thomas passed away Sunday, January 6, 2019, at the Sidney Health Center Emergency Room, Sidney, MT.
Thomas Scott Lorenz was born on June 16, 1955 to Victor and Rose Buxbaum Lorenz. He was baptized and confirmed at Ebenezer Congregational Church. He attended Sidney Public Schools and graduated with the class of 1973.
On his 18th birthday he met his future wife Marilynn Deines at the infamous Triangle Nite Club. They were married on June 5th, 1976 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Sidney. Tom and Marilynn were blessed with four beautiful daughters.
Tom thought the world of his girls, sharing his favorite hunting and fishing experiences. He also taught his girls to be kind, loving and independent adults, leading them by example. The added bonus was continuing the same values with his grandkids.
Tom enjoyed working with people, especially farmers which led him to his 21 year career with Betaseed. He also raised sugar beets, hay and cattle along the way.
Some of his most memorable times were spent with the Betaseed Family on incentive trips. Which he never took for granted but thought of as a blessing.
At the time of his passing he was employed by Fastenal, where he continued to work in the community he loved.
Tom was preceded in death by his parents Victor and Rose, brothers Steve and Monte, and sister Jolene Stinchfield.
He is survived by his wife Marilynn, daughters Melissa (Lee) Mocko, Beth (Gary) Brien, Laura (John Finn), and Shevon (Chris) Atwood, and grandchildren Janelle and Dylan Brien, Jaida and Kaidon Mocko, Marcus Finn, and Kinley and Jackson Atwood.

Marilyn and Family, My heart and mind are filled with such deep feelings of loving thoughts of you with this news. And in my thoughts is the knowledge that Tom knew Jesus as his Savior believing that he would live with Him forever in joy and peace. My feelings include sadness but with prayers of thanksgiving, with you and for you, that your loving husband/father/grandpa is celebrating at Home in Heaven. May grace and mercy beyond human understanding be yours in Christ Jesus.

Gary, Beth, Janelle, Dylie, Damon, Marilynn, Girls, and families,

I am shocked and deeply sorry for the sudden loss of Tom. I can hear his chuckle, see his forehead lean forward as he is talking, and notice his limp when he gets up from the table. My heart breaks for all of you. Tom lived generosity - in all he did for each of us. We are all blessed to have known him and I am lifting you all in prayer.

I travelled alot my last years in school and landed in Sidney for my freshman and sophomore years at Sidney schools. I remember Tom as I started playing basketball in Sidney and graduated in the same class of 1973 but in a different town. I am sorry for the family that he left behind of their loss.
