Robert Arthur “Bob” Swenson was born June 20, 1940 in Scobey, MT to Albert and Nellie Swenson. Bob was the second of 4 children. He was raised in Scobey and attended Scobey High School. On September 2, 1961, he was united in marriage to Judy Paulson in Sheridan, Wyoming.
Following his marriage, they spent many years in Scobey, MT after which they moved to Sidney, MT, following the oil industry as a seismic driller for many years and raised their 4 children. Bob with his two sons and son in law, traveled throughout the Western United States with his seismograph rig, drilling. In 2001, they began ground source heat pump drilling all over Iowa, in which he retired in 2012 in Williston, ND.
Bob enjoyed many things in his retirement including his coin collections, camping, solitaire on the computer and dirt track stock car racing. Bob especially enjoyed spending time with his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Bob also really enjoyed babysitting alongside Judy, three young children in which he grew very close with. One of Bob’s all time favorite things to do was to travel to his favorite state, Iowa.
Bob is survived by his wife Judy; sister, Mildred Day; children, Trena (Chuck) Peterson of Richey, MT; Robert Swenson Jr. of Webster City, IA; Timmy Swenson of Sidney, MT and Kristi Johnson of Williston, ND; 12 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Benny and Jerry Swenson and a great grandchild, Tayler.
