It Is Our Privilege And Purpose To Serve You
Leanne Marie Abelmann
October 6, 1948 - September 8, 2018

Place of Birth: Powers Lake, ND
Residence: Rural Alexander, ND
Age: 69

Leanne Abelmann, 69, of rural Alexander, ND, passed away peacefully at her residence, surrounded by her family, Saturday afternoon, September 8, 2018. Fulkerson Stevenson Funeral Home of Williston, ND is assisting the family.

Leanne Marie (Melberg) Abelmann was born October 6, 1948 to James and Iris (Herseth) Melberg in Powers Lake, ND. She was baptized and confirmed at the Bethel Lutheran Church in Battle View, ND. Her school years were in Battle View and Powers Lake. She later attended Minot Business College. Leanne had two children she adored, Pati and Vance.

Leanne was lucky enough to marry her soul mate, Dan Ablemann on September 29, 2000. He was truly the love of her life and her rock when she needed him the most. They were able to build a life together of their dreams by living and working on their ranch. Leanne enjoyed the ranch life, and she and Dan could be found riding horses, branding, fencing and working in their yard and in their home. Her creative touch was in every corner of their home as well as outside as she filled it with her love of western décor, making it feel like a museum.

Over the years, Leanne had many jobs including her own cleaning business, Triangle Night Club, Sidney Country Club, Cattle-Ac and most recently, the Country Café. Leanne loved to work and did so until her body said “no more!”

Leanne loved spending time with her family and grandchildren. She could always be found with a camera in hand to take pictures of the people in her life that meant the most to her. Her family will always be grateful for the numerous scrapbooks she created.

Leanne was beautiful inside and out. She was a wild woman who was filled with life and spunk. She loved all things western, was never judgmental and was creative; always having a project for her or Dan to work on. Life wasn’t always easy for her, but you would never know it, she was so strong. Leanne left this world holding onto Dan’s hand, grateful for the time she had and finding peace within the presence of her Lord.

Leanne is survived by her husband, Dan Abelmann of Alexander, daughter, Pati Clausen of Bismarck, ND, her siblings, Linda Holmen of Tioga, ND, Jeane Harwood of Seattle, WA and Steve (Corrine) Melberg of Battle View, ND, her grandchildren, Amy (Anthony) Allogia of Palm Beach Gardens, FL, Paige, Mykenzie and Zane Clausen of Mandan, ND and Zachary Neset of Rapid City, SD, along with several nieces and nephews.

Leanne was preceded in death by her parents, and her son Vance Neset.

Leanne and I worked together at JC Pennys in Sidney in the late 70s and then at the golf course after that. Leanne was such a warm hearted and loving person. She has been through a lot in her life but each obstacle made her stronger. It was always fun to run into her and catch up. Hugs to all of you.

Leanne was a wonderful woman. We loved seeing her at the diner. After she had to retire she stopped in a few times and we were always happy to see her and catch up.
She is very missed and touched many lives in a positive way.

Sending lots of love and hugs to all of Leanne's loved ones. She was the sweetest woman I have ever known. She was like my second mom since I was little. She always said I was her little rugrat. I loved her so much. Praying for you all to get through the extremely difficult days ahead. She will be missed. Extra hugs and love to my big sis Pati.

Leanne was my niece and when she and her sisters were toddlers I spent a couple summers at their home--her mom, Iris, was my sister. I remember Leanne and her ready smile and her sense of humor over the years. Our prayers go out to all her family and friends.

I have enjoyed reading the accounts of Leanne's life as lived by those who loved her. She was obviously dearly loved, an inspiration and a joy to be around. I am glad for all who knew her, that you had such a wonderful lady in your lives. I am sad for your sorrow, but hope you will cherish the memories of this wonderful lady, knowing that she lived a life full of love, and carry on once grief is lessened in the manner that you know she would approve of - with a zest for life and a a love for God.
