Brandon Ryan Hand “The Mandan” (Nuetaa), member of the low cap clan, was born on January 12th 1965, in Watford City, North Dakota. He was born to Avalon Hale and the late Ernest Hand.
He grew up in Independence, North Dakota. He graduated from New Town Public High School. He participated in football, basketball, and track and field.
He married Priscilla Jean Hosie, had 3 children, Tristan, Leighton, and Toni. From a previous marriage he had a daughter, Sasha. And from a previous relationship had a son, Dallas Jacob.
He was the team captain and best offensive line men. As a ninth grader he got a lot of playing time as a freshman for the varsity football team. As a sophomore he was on the first team to make the playoffs. He made all conference as an offensive lineman, and during his sophomore year he started varsity for basketball. He was on the student council. He went to the Punt Pass and Kick Championship in Miami Florida. And he attended boys life. He was very athletic from his early years. He was a leader and always stepped into help without being helped.
He attended UND (University of North Dakota) and graduated with a degree of Computer Science. He played football for UND as the position of fullback. He took the hardest math class at UND, which he was very proud of. He worked for HP (Hewlett Packard). And he worked for TAT as the Chief Financial Officer. He enjoyed coaching for little leagues for baseball and football.
He was a die hard fan for Miami Dolphins. One of his Daughters were born on Dan Marino’s birthday. He took his older kids to Miami Dolphins football games. And in his words the greatest NFL football team ever was “The 1972 Miami Dolphins perfect season.”
He spent his semi retired years in Grand Forks, North Dakota, And moved to Washington State also. While in Grand Forks he started playing Horseshoes. And when he moved to Washington he started playing competitively. And he won state double championship.
In September of 2017 he was diagnosed with Adenocarcinoma of the liver and pancreas. Between Stages 3 and 4. After his diagnose he moved back home to Independence. Brandon enjoyed time with his kids and family.
Brandon is survived by his mother Avalon Hale - independence, sister Sharon Hand - Newtown. And his kids, Tristan Hosie-Hand - Independence, Leighton Hand - Independence, Sasha Ness - Fargo, Toni Rose - Independence, Dallas Jacob - New town. Auntie Brenda Hale - Independence. Uncle James Hale Sr. - Mandaree. Auntie Madeline Bruce - Bismarck. Uncle Anthony (Smokey) Elk-Nevada.
