It Is Our Privilege And Purpose To Serve You
Georgetta Hurst
October 8, 1943 - February 20, 2018

Place of Birth: Portland, Oregon
Residence: Sidney, Montana
Age: 74

Georgetta passed peacefully surrounded by family on Feb. 20th, 2018 after putting up a brave battle with cancer. In her final years she had accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as her Savior.

Georgetta came roaring into this world in Oct. 8, 1943 in Portland Oregon to George and Aladeen Goldsmith. The family eventually settled on a farm outside of Sidney, where Georgetta learned her strong work ethics from being a farmer's daughter.

She attended Sidney High School until she had her first child at the age of 15. She gave birth to her last and 7th child at the age of 29. Through those years she had lived in many different places; Buffalo, WY, Glenwood, Iowa, Santa Maria, Santa Paula, Long Beach and Stockton, CA (just to name a few) but always returned to her roots in the quiet town of Sidney.

In her younger days she worked for her Mom at the Stockyard Cafe alongside her beloved sister Jackie. She also worked at Montgomery Wards but spent the majority of her years working as a bartender in Sidney, Fairview, Richey and Glendive. She finally retired (after the second try) at the age of seventy.

Georgetta was fiercely independent, loved to be the life of the party, enjoyed traveling, music, dancing, jigsaw puzzles, reading and working in her yard. She loved and missed the ocean so much and several years ago was finally able to live out her dream of being able to return to California to be at the ocean again.

Georgetta welcomed many people into her heart and her home. In addition to her birth children, she had many “adopted” children that knew her home was always open to them. Anyone who knew Georgetta knew that she was a very giving person but would also let you know she was not going to put up with any guff
either.

Although she has left a huge hole in our hearts her tenacious spirit will carry on in her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and for many generations to come!
Georgetta is survived by her children; George Renville of Claremont, CA; Michelle Armstrong (Delbert) of Eureka, MT; Carl Renville Jr. (Nina) of Bonneville, WA; LaVonne Schultz (Philip Kuylen, Fiance’) of Sidney, MT; Tim Hurst (Robyn) of Sidney, MT; Darcy Hurst (Cynthea) of Parachute, CO; and Kelly Holter (Shannon) of Bowbells, ND. She also leaves behind 24 grandchildren,17 great grandchildren, many other family and friends to numerous to list but they are not forgotten.

She is preceded in death by her parents George and Aladeen Goldsmith and her sisters Sylvia Darlene and Jacqueline.

Hey there Georgie Girl, we’ll see you on the other side!

I was so sorry to hear that your Mom had died. I remember visiting at your Grandpa George and Grandma Deanie Goldsmith's when I was young, and your Mom was always nice to me. I loved her curly hair and infectious smile. I know my Mom and Dad thought a lot of her.Find strength and comfort in your faith and being together. Hugs to all of you. Gary and Vicki

So sorry to hear of Georgetta's passing. It saddens me that we'd lost touch with each other in recent years but we remember her fondly as a friend as well as a star employee at Wards. She will brighten up the heavens for sure with her smile. Lola & Arnie Hansen

Georgie and I were such good friends and she helped me through some difficult times many years ago. I’d like to think I may have possibly touched her life in a good way too. I’m sorry to say we eventually lost track of each other as happens. May her family have peace from our Lord and feel the prayers from us who knew and loved Georgie. See you in heaven sweet lady. So sorry to hear of your mother's passing Tim. I didn't know her but losing "mom" is hard, for most of us she Is the foundation of our world. Don't be surprised if you feel like an orphan while your world adjusts to her being gone. Speak of her often, it helps.
