Dick was born on July 30, 1967, in Sidney, MT to Linda Umback and Dana Wing. He grew up and attended schools in Glendive, Savage, and Sidney, MT.
After family, Dick had his love of agates, fishing and hunting. He was always at the river doing one or all of the above. Even while he was working, his eyes were always looking down at every rock or piece of gravel. “Never know where the next money making rock will come from”, he would always say. “This is the best rock I have ever found”, he said about just about EVERY rock.
The only thing that compared to his love of rocks and fishing was his love of music. I can’t even express how proud of his friends and family members that had bands. It gave him great joy to support them in their accomplishments. He was always their biggest fan.
Dick married Sonja Miller on July 20, 2002, in Sidney, MT.
Now, as we gather together, for this man who loved so deeply, I ask that we celebrate his life and love. Not mourn his death. He would not want us to be sad for him. He would want us to go drill a hole in the ice, drink a beer, take a shot and turn the music up loud.
Dick died on Monday, January 15, 2018, at the Sidney Health Center, Sidney, MT.
Dick is survived by: his wife, Sonja Wing, Sidney, MT; his mother and step-father, Linda (Don) Posivio, Sidney, MT; his son, Colby Zorn, Billings, MT; step-son, Kurtis Miller, Billing, MT; step-daughters, Natacia Miller, Billings, MT and Kirstin Miller, Hoquiem, WA; brothers, Gary Wing, Souix City, IA, Donn Wing, Sidney, MT, Greg Wing, Sidney, MT; and seven grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by: his father, Dana Wing; maternal grandparents, George and Alice (Sheehan) Umback; paternal grandparents, George and Okal Wing; uncle, David Wing; and many other loved ones.
