John Fredrick Dahl, 91, of Dickinson, ND, formerly of Williston, ND passed away January 14, 2018 at the St. Luke’s Home in Dickinson, ND. He was born December 4, 1926 to Fredrick Dahl and Severine Sovik-Dahl in Williston, ND.

John was raised and educated in rural Alamo, ND graduating from Alamo High School. Two weeks after graduating, John entered the U.S. Army in 1945. He spent 8 months with the Occupational Forces in Germany. John was honorably discharged in 1946. He returned to the family farm and later attended Wahpeton State School of Science, where he studied automobile repair. John later returned to the farm where he worked 43 years before retiring in 1998. He has been a resident of Williston for over 40 years. John enjoyed reading and bowling in his younger years.

John is preceded in death by his parents, Fredrick and Severine Dahl and by his brother, Clarence Dahl. He is survived by his sister-in-law Joanne Dahl of Dickinson; nieces Karen Dahl of Rapid City and Jean (Chris) Ford of Bismarck, nephew James Dahl of Dickinson and great nephews Matthew Ford and Erik Ford of Bismarck.

Cremation has been entrusted to Fulkerson Stevenson Funeral Home of Williston.
