Marie Anderson
May 31, 1926 - September 10, 2017

Place of Birth: Williston, ND
Residence: Rural Williston, more recently of Williston
Age: 91

Marie Anderson, 91, of rural Williston, ND, more recently of Williston, ND, passed away Sunday morning, September 10, 2017 at Bethel Lutheran Home in Williston.

Marie was born to Fred and Lydia (Bauer) LeMay on May 31, 1926 in Williston, ND. Chim-Marie as her grandmother called her, was a descendant from some of our strongest pioneers. She graduated from Flandreaux, SD high school and was Salutatorian of her class. Marie worked at Montgomery Wards after graduation; she also worked during the summer at resorts in Wisconsin Dells, WI.

Marie met and married her first husband Lloyd Oyloe and together they had two sons, Roger and Ronald. Marie did what all women her age did, she was a wife, mother, ranch hand, school cook, Sunday school teacher and anything else that needed to be tended to. After Lloyd passed away, Marie volunteered at the Mercy Hospital gift shop.

Marie started a new life adventure with Bud Anderson. Together they spent their life farming, ranching, traveling, dancing, living and laughing.
No matter what, Marie always had an open door. The countless people who relied on Marie’s hospitality are unknown, but it is clear that her generosity was felt by many. This was evident with the amount of people who called or came to see her and how many hours were spent visiting with Marie and reminiscing about the old days, especially towards the end of her life.

So many things can be said about Marie, she was a good wife, a wonderful cook, her house was always clean, she was a hard worker and so much more. But what truly matters are the things that are hard to say. Marie was loyal to a fault; if she considered you a friend then you were a friend for life.

Marie was strikingly beautiful all the years of her life, but never more beautiful then when she looked upon, thought about or had a conversation with her kids. She had a very special connection with Ron, the love between her and her son was immeasurable. They read each other’s minds with just a look, no words were necessary.

Marie lived a full and rich life but she didn’t measure success by conventional means. With her whole heart she believed that her kids and grandkids were her greatest success, her life’s work. She was so proud of them and all they did no matter how big or small. Time spent with family and friends was one of the things she treasured most. She may not have ever realized it, but she taught each of us so many things. She inspired us to work hard, love deeply, laugh out loud, and live life to the fullest. She leaves us all rich in memories.

She is survived by her husband, Bud Anderson; her son, Ron Oyloe; sister, Joyce Good; 3 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren and several nephews and nieces. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd; son, Roger and her siblings; three brothers, Paul, James and Dennis LeMay and 4 sisters, Bertha LeMay, Catherine Big Horn, Dora Higgins, and Leona Granbois.

Our sincerest sympathy to the family and friends at this your time of loss. We wanted to share a thought found at Job 14:14,15 it states, "If a man dies, can he live again? I will wait all the days of my compulsory serviceUntil my relief comes. You will call, and I will answer you.You will long for the work of your hands." May you have peace and comfort."

What a beautiful obituary. We always enjoyed visiting with Marie and loved it when she sent a jar of jelly home with us. I always admired her perfect hair, her beautiful nails, and how she was always dressed so nicely, just a truly classy "lady". May
God bring you comfort and peace.

Even though we went to high school with Roger, we did not get to know Marie and Buddy until much, much later. It was always fun to run into this classy, fun loving couple. Cherish the memories of Marie.
