Milo P. Langberg, age 86 of Apache Junction, AZ, formerly of Grenora, ND passed away Saturday, September 2, 2017, at his home, surrounded by his wife and family.

Milo, son of Peter and Maren (Jacobsen) Langberg was born in Climax Township at the farm on March 21, 1931. He was baptized at Scandia and confirmed at St Petri. He attended Grenora Public School and Roosevelt School. After his schooling, Milo committed his life to the farm.

Milo married Lorraine Berg June 16, 1952 at Plentywood Lutheran Church in Plentywood, MT. With that union Milo not only gained a wife but a very active partner in farming and life. They recently celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary in June. They raised six children on the farm: Kathleen, Mary Lou, Carol Ann, Robert, Laurie and Sue. Milo and Lorraine started traveling to Arizona in 1984, eventually settled in Rancho Mirage, Apache Junction, AZ.

During his years on the farm, Milo served on the following boards: Climax Township, Grenora Farmers Union Oil, Farmers Elevator, Credit Union, Scandia and St Olaf church councils, and was very proud to have served 27 years on the Mountrail Williams Electric Cooperative board. He was a lifetime member of North Dakota Farmers Union and belonged to the Elks and Moose Lodge of Williston.

Milo enjoyed visiting with everyone and anyone. He was known for his stories and jokes. He had an amazing memory! If there was ever a question about the people of our area, people would say “ Ask Milo, he’ll know!”. He loved traveling, dancing and was always willing to lend a helping hand. After retirement, Milo enjoyed helping area farmers.

Milo was always a great keeper of the history of Climax township. He made a point of seeking out extended families of the original pioneers to help their descendants explain the importance of Grenora and surrounding area in shaping who they became. Thank you Milo for the phone calls and for finding us when we were in the Williston area. We will always appreciate you. Linda and all the extended Johnson family.

Lorraine and family,
Sorry to hear about the passing of Milo. He will be missed by family and friends. Milo was a man who enjoyed working, visiting and traveling. He very much enjoyed traveling to see and visit with his family and friends. And that was one of his best times to tell his stories of his adventures. He will always be remembered for what he did during his time with all of us.

Lorraine, you and Milo are two of my favorite Grenora people! I'm so glad I ran into you in Grenora not too long ago! Even though most of our dealings were business related, I loved seeing both of you walking into the office - it would make my day! Prayers to you and your family at this difficult time.
