Clair Lou Brown
August 17, 1957 - August 8, 2017

Place of Birth: Wolf Point, Montana
Residence: Sidney, Montana
Age: 59

Clair Lou (Cusker) Brown, was born August 17, 1957 to Roy Clair “Swede” and Elsie Evelina (Lingle) Cusker in Wolf Point, MT. Clair was raised in the country in northern McCone County and naturally loved to ride horseback and loved the badlands she grew up and went to school in. Clair met her husband Darrel Brown in Circle, MT and they were married on May 10, 1979. They had many adventures over their 38 years together. In the early years, she was happy making a loving home for their three children Ryan, Lindi and Austin. Always curious of what the next adventure or challenge would be.
Clair worked at the McCone County Nursing home while living in Circle then went on to graduate nursing school from Miles Community College in 1993. She worked at Poplar Community Hospital, Sidney Health Center, Roosevelt Medical Center Home Health Agency, Culbertson, later becoming the Co-Director of Nursing at Roosevelt Medical Center before medical retirement.
Clair learned to sew from her mother and made everything from shirts to quilts. Many generations have been given quilts that Clair lovingly sewed. She and Darrel could often be found at a Jam Session dancing the night away. They also enjoyed sightseeing, antiques, cooking, gardening, flowers and needle work. The flowers are still blooming beautifully showing the love she has left behind.
Clair died on August 8, 2017 at her home in Sidney, MT.
Clair is survived by: her mother, Elsie Belzer, Savage, MT; husband Darrel, Sidney, MT; sons, Ryan (Lacie) Glasgow, MT and Austin (Desiree) with grandsons Sam and Korbin, Gillette, WY; daughter, Lindi (John) Watkins with granddaughter Devon Sidney, MT; sisters, Dawn (Ted) Claymore Sidney, MT, Noela Cusker, Huntley MT; and brother, JR Cusker (Debbie) Nashua MT.
Clair was preceded in death by her father “Swede” Cusker.
Clair’s legacy aside from her family will continue with all those she cared for throughout her nursing career as well as those who she will have helped in the long battle to beat cancer.
Clair touched the heart of everyone who met her with always kind words, a smile and helping hand

My thoughts and prayers go out to Clairs family and close friends. I went to nursing school with Clair but knew her also through 4H and was a CNA with her also way back when. Clair was one of the kindest souls I have ever come across. Her quite caring demeanor set her apart from many others in healthcare. She carried herself with pride and unbelievable grace. Her passion for nursing was always evident, even through the hard days of school... What a wonderful person... I'm sure her children carry her amazing qualities with them. Thinking of you all. Darryl, may cherished memories make you smile and God's eternal promise bring you Peace. Love, Beth Berry Conroy - MCC class of '93
