Alda Mae Cook, 84, of Mesa, AZ, was called to her eternal home on Sunday, April 30, 2017 following a recent illness. She passed peacefully at home, surrounded by loved ones.
Alda was born in Fairview, MT on Dec. 4, 1932 to Ervin Russell and Adeline Wilhemina (Johnson) Stordahl. She attended school in Fairview and graduated in 1951. She was united in marriage to Samuel Cook in 1953 and in 1956 Sam enlisted in the Air Force. They had two children, Janet and Steven, and moved frequently during Sam’s twenty years of service. Alda was a devoted wife and mother and made life wonderful for her family.
Alda was so creative and before her vision began to fail she was always busy with a project. She knitted, painted landscapes, beaded jewelry, loved floral arranging and always had a cross-stitch in progress. Her delight was spending time with her family and making memories.
When Sam retired from the Air Force, they made their home in Sidney, MT, followed by Miles City, Fairview and Billings, MT. In December of 2011 Mesa became their permanent residence.
Alda is survived by her husband of 64 years, Samuel Cook of Mesa, her daughter Janet (Tim) Fedora, Mesa, AZ, her son Steven (Jodie) Cook, Sioux Falls, SD, her grandchildren Cole (Angie) Fedora, Bethany (Spencer) Loomis, Sam Cook, Camille Cook, and great grandson, Bensyn Loomis. She is also survived by her brother Ernest Stordahl, Fairview, MT and sister Donna (Ardean) Skogen, Cartwright, ND. She was preceded in death by her parents.
