Gary was born July 3, 1959 in Sidney M, to Eldor and Lois (Voss) Breitling and he was the youngest of 7 children. He grew up in Sidney and graduated in 1977. Gary and Barb were united in marriage in Sidney, MT in 1979. To this union 2 children were born, Bryan and Lisa.
As a young man Gary started in the grocery business at Bob's Warehouse, then Safeway, County Market now known as IGA. There he became the meat manager and then moved up to the assistant manager of the store. In 2005, a friend, Tom Evenson, had a new adventure for Gary to pursue in the oil business. He first started on the drilling rigs and spent a few weeks working down in Casper, WY. Then he pursued Lease Operator for Dan's Production. From there he went to SM Energy and recently on to Oasis. In that time he met a great group of guys that he enjoyed a cup of coffee with almost every morning.
Gary always said "just living the dream." He lived life to the fullest spending time with his 3 granddaughters, going on vacations, and having coffee with his coffee crew, and he really enjoyed his job as a Lease Operator. He enjoyed taking his wife on motorcycle rides during the spring and summer and working on projects around the house. Gary was always the man running the BBQ grill during family BBQ's every summer. He loved cooking. He always enjoyed going hunting and working on projects with his son Bryan, even when they didn't always see eye to eye about things. Gary always looked forward to planning the next big family vacation, mostly to Disneyland. Disneyland was his favorite place to go to so we always went every other year. Pirates of the Caribbean, was his favorite of all the rides. Gary always said vacations and family get togethers is where the memories are made, to just enjoy life, and he did. He enjoyed spoiling his granddaughters and getting down on the floor playing games with them and running around just being goofy. His kids and grandkids meant the world to him.
His laughter, big bear hugs, dressing as Santa Clause every Christmas for the granddaughters, and good morning texts/videos will be greatly missed. He was the laughter of the family and always bringing a smile to your face.
Gary died on Saturday, March 25, 2017, in Las Vegas, NV.
Gary is survived by: his wife, Barb of Sidney, MT; son, Bryan (Kim) of Sidney, MT; daughter, Lisa (Brett) of Powell, WY; his grandchildren, Haylee, Brindey Breitling, and Aleah Lara; brothers, Marvin of Great Falls, MT, William (Ada) of Sidney, MT, and Duane of Sidney, MT; sisters, Lou Mohl of Sidney MT, and Bonnie Garza of Lolo, MT; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews; father and mother-in-law, Delmore and Bonnie Damm of Sidney, MT; brother-in-law, Scott (Joy) of Glendive MT; special “Angel” friends, Scott and Gloria Ramus, Sandee Lundby and Terry Knaff.
Gary was preceded in death by: his father, Eldor, his mother, Lois; infant sister; brother-in-law, Mel; and sister-in-laws, Merna and Bobbi.
