Renae Hanson, 52 of Williston, passed away early Tuesday morning January 17, 2017 at CHI St. Alexius Hospital in Bismarck, ND. Her funeral arrangements are with Fulkerson Stevenson Funeral Home of Williston.

Renae Sharon (Martin) Hanson was born on October 5th, 1964 in Bottineau ND, to Loni and Gerald Martin. She was raised in Bottineau until 1968, when her family moved to Williston and planted their roots. She attended grade school at St. Joseph’s Catholic School and she graduated from Williston High School in 1982. She continued on to get her cosmetology license from Josef’s School of Hair Design in Minot.

On November 4, 1989 she married the love of her life, Les Hanson. In May of 1990 they were blessed with their daughter, Amanda Jo and in May of 1991 they were blessed with their son, Jordan Patrick. Her children were the light of her life. She was later blessed with three beautiful grandchildren, Brantley Joel on March 26, 2012, Braxton James on January 22, 2015, and Emmalyn Joy on November 30, 2016. Renae loved being a mother and loved being a grandmother even more. Her grandchildren were the light of her life.

Renae spent the last year doctoring in Williston, Bismarck and Rochester, MN. She fought a long and courageous battle with Diabetes. Renae passed away peacefully early Tuesday morning, January 17, 2017, with her family at her side at CHI St. Alexius Hospital in Bismarck, ND. Her infectious smile and loving nature will be missed by all who knew her.

She leaves behind her loving husband of 27 years, Les, her children Amanda (Jordan) Morris and their son Brantley Joel, and Jordan (Charity) Hanson and their children Braxton James and Emmalyn Joy, all of Williston, her mother Loni Martin of Williston, sister Patty (Jody) Monson of Billings, fathers-in-law, Darryl (Alecia) Hanson and Vern Tasa of Williston. Brother-in-law Kenneth Hanson (Julie Melby), sisters-in-law, Darla Morken (Arthur Crumb) and Pam (Tim) Wentz, and several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

Renae was preceded in death by her father, Gerald Martin in 2009, paternal grandparents, Harold and Josephine Lee, maternal grandparents Harold and Evelyn Holdaas, mother-in-law Linda Tasa, brother-in-law Gerome Hanson in 1988 and her husband’s grandmother Lucy Hanson.
