Margaret D Denowh
September 4, 1922 - January 15, 2017

Place of Birth: Danbury, Wisconsin

Age: 94

Margaret Dorothy Hayden was born on Labor Day, September 4, 1922 to Margaret (Lisk) and Leon Hayden in Danbury, Wisconsin. She joined three older brothers Richard, George and Robert. Two more brothers and four sisters eventually joined the Hayden clan. Margaret started school in Fisher, MN on her 6th birthday. She moved around some with her family attending several different schools. She said her parents always picked a place at least 3 miles from home so the kids had to leave early and got home later. They finally moved to East Fairview where she went on to attend Fairview High School.
She married Julius (Jim) Denowh on November 24th, 1942. In 1944 they moved onto the Boissens homestead near Cartwright, ND, Jims Grandparents farm, where she lived for the rest of her life. Jim and Margaret spent their lives farming, raising kids, cattle and a huge garden. She also worked for many years in the Oasis Greenhouse with sister Barb, and niece Anita. Jim passed away on November 28, 2005. Their son Tim owns the farm now with mom being the not so silent partner until the last. Margaret and Jim’s first born in 1944 was infant daughter Joanne Kay who was stillborn, son James Patrick was born in May, 1946, and in June,1958 Tim was born. Both boys learned the lessons of hard work from their parents.
Margaret died on Sunday evening, January 15, 2017, at the Mercy Medical Center, Williston, ND.
Margaret is survived by: son, Pat of Apache Junction, AZ; granddaughter, Theresa Winebarger of Marysville, CA; great grandchildren, Luke and Kelsey Winebarger, Marysville, CA; great great grandson Ruark Winebarger, Marysville, CA; grandsons, Joe (Monica) Denowh of Phoenix, AZ, Jon Denowh of Casa Grande, AZ, Tibet and Patrick Denowh of Apache Junction, AZ; son, Tim, Cartwright, ND; sisters, Gertie Hanson, Redding, CA, Mary Shaub, Havre, MT, Doris (Ken) Roe, Redding CA, and Barbara Reidle, Fairview, MT; sister-in-law, Betty Hayden, Fairview, MT; a very spoiled black whiteface cow, whom she bottle fed from birth and has watched with joy for the last eleven years.

Pat and Tim we are so sorry about Aunt Margaret. Wish we could be with you this weekend but we have to take care of the Yogurt Shop and their dogs, while our son is out of town from Thursday until late Sunday. We will definitely try to make it in June for the Memorial. We are so thankful that we were able to spend time with her last summer. Loved reading the obituary I learned so many things about her that I didn't know before. Thank you to whoever wrote it. Sending good thoughts and big hugs to you both. Judy (Denowh) and Jack Deck

Sorry to hear of the passing of your mom. I didn't know her well but remember her as having a great sense of humor and a good cook. Happy we got to see her and you, Tim, last summer. Love and prayers to you both for your heavy hearts.
