On Saturday, November 12, 2016, Mary Francis Thrams was invited into heaven from the Sidney Health Center to continue her love giving life.
Mary’s life began on November 23, 1928, as the first daughter to Frank and Leona (Holst) Balducke in Sturgis, SD. Over the years her family ranched in Hoover, SD, Fryburg, ND, and Sentinel Butte, ND communities. In 1943, the family moved to their ranch southeast of Sidney, MT. Upon completing her eighth grade education, she continued to work on the ranch helping her parents care for her younger siblings. On September 20, 1953, Mary and Leon Thrams took their vows, which turned out to be 63 years of marriage, farming and ranching in the Skaar Community. In 2005, they moved into Sidney, MT to enjoy their retirement until Mary’s health required more care so she entered the Sidney Health Center Extended Care in January 2014.
Out of their commitment to each other Mary and Leon had: three children, 2 sons, Blake (Betty) Thrams, Sidney, MT and Bryan (Sharla) Thrams, Weldona, CO and a daughter, Esther (Mike) Egan, Jackson Hole, WY; 6 grandchildren, Jack (Mirage) Thrams, Travis Thrams, Josh (Britany) Thrams, Shandra (Matt) Thrams West, Shawn (Miguel) Thrams Jeronimo; 6 great grandchildren, Jaclyn, Jayda, Jordyn, Rye, Riggen, and Arya; her brother, William “Bill” Balducke, Sidney, MT; her sisters, Louise Rehbein, Sidney, MT, Lois McRae and Francie (Lloyd) Mackin, all of Miles City, MT; numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by: her parents, Frank and Leona Balducke; her sisters, Maebelle Staggs and Myrtle Brown; her brothers, Tony Balducke, Benny Balducke, and an infant brother, Joseph; and a granddaughter, Shannon Thrams.
