It Is Our Privilege And Purpose To Serve You
R. Kelly Roberts
July 14, 1954 - September 16, 2016

Place of Birth: Seattle, Washington
Residence: Sidney, Montana
Age: 62

Kelly was born in Seattle, Washington on July 14, 1954 to Lynden Dunham and Jacqueline Skinner. He graduated from John R. Rogers High School in Puyallup and continued on to Great Falls, Montana once he enlisted in the United States Air Force. While serving, Kelly studied Business Administration/Entrepreneurial/Small Business Management at American Military University.
Kelly was married to Ivy Frounfelter on September 7, 1975 and they were married for 41 years.
Kelly proudly served in the Air Force for 24 years, retiring from Langley Air Force Base, Virginia in 1996. The years he spent in the military enriched his life in many ways. It all began when he met his wife Ivy in Great Falls. They married by candlelight in Sidney, MT surrounded by family in the Pella Lutheran Church. From there they moved to Guam, as this was his first assignment as an airman. Kelly and his family then began their journey moving to Wyoming, Belgium, Texas, Virginia, Washington and eventually settling in Montana.
After retiring from the Air Force, Kelly was not ready to retire from the work force. He spent 9 years at John Hancock Financial Services. From there he then moved to Sidney, MT and became the Administrative Officer at the U.S. Department of Agriculture.
He cherished the relationships with family, friends and colleagues as he enjoyed being surrounded by them daily. He loved entertaining and was one of the most amazing cooks. Kelly had such a positive spirit and loved finding the humor in almost anything in life. Those that knew him well saw this side of him and shared many laughs. He also held a high level of pride in everything and anyone he touched. Throughout his life he was a selfless man, a generous man who naturally gave to those in need. Not only did he care deeply for those close to him, he was also actively involved with many groups and charities such as Meals on Wheels.
Kelly is remembered with love by his wife Ivy Roberts, his son, Randy Roberts, his daughter, Kristin Roberts, many loving family members, in-laws, nieces, nephews and long-time friends.
Kelly was preceded in death by his twin brother, D. Keith Roberts, his mother in law, Helen Frounfelter, his mother, Jacqueline Wilder, his step father, Daniel Roberts, his son, Ryan Roberts, and his father in law, Lyle Frounfelter.
Kelly entered eternal life on September 16, 2016 at the age of 62, after a courageous two year battle with cancer.

I was so sad to hear of Kelly's passing. It was my privilege to meet him. I wish I could have know him better. To see his courage and strength was amazing. The only thing more amazing was to see the love between this man and his wife. Truly special! I am also sorry to hear about his brother. To Ivy and his children be strong, use your memories and each other to get through this difficult time

Ivy, I tried to get a hold of you and Kelly years ago and finally did in 1992 I believe and never heard back. I tried again in 2004 and Kelly and I talked for a very long time on the phone. I was very happy to finally move back to Montana in 2006 and knew that you guys had moved to Sidney. I got a hold of Kelly again and things seemed to go well for a few months and then I dont know if I upset him or not but never heard again from him. I remember everything like yesterday. I remember when you, the Haas gal and another gal were in the white Mustang off on a side street off 2nd ave north here in Great Falls and I said hey that car has 27 license plates stop by it and lets see if I know them. Anyway the rest was history and living in the big white house and then your guys little house behind it eventually and so forth. I really wish I had known about him getting cancer and would like to have talked to him one last time. I really hope the best of the rest of your lives for the rest of you Ivy. May God hold him. Chuck.
