Marilyn was born January 5, 1936 to William and Grace (Clark) Lassey in the log cabin along the Yellowstone River at Cartwright, N.D. She attended grade school at Estes School and Cartwright School and graduated from Fairview High School in 1953.
On November 27, 1953 she and Edward Propp were married and made their home in Fairview, MT. They moved to a farm in the Sidney area until his death in 1971. To this union four children were born: Rodney, Susan, Carol and Julie Propp.
Marilyn worked for the Extension Service in Sidney and the Montana Division of Planning. She then moved to Williston, N.D. and worked first for KUMV television and then 20 years for KXMD television on-air, in sales and as station manager. After retirement, she moved back to Sidney where she met and married Issy Sackman. They spent 14 years wintering in Yuma, AZ, going to dances and many other fun activities. Isidor passed away in 2011.
Marilyn is survived by: daughters, Susan (Harvey) Welnel, Bloomington, MN., Carol Sandvik (Mike Gritzan) Sidney, MT., and Julie Goebel (David Sherbrooke) Lake Park, MN.,; grandchildren, Becky Kvande, Shawn Welnel, Brady Berndt, Jennifer (Colten) Roberts, Dan (Molly) Goebel, and Ashley Goebel; sister Mavis (Ron) Berry, Cartwright, N.D.; brother Bill (Marie) Lassey, Scottsdale, AZ; 4 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death: her parents, son Rodney Propp and one sister, Lila Stewart.
Marilyn died Saturday, July 23, 2016 in Detroit Lake, MN.
