It Is Our Privilege And Purpose To Serve You
Sharon Cayko
December 13, 1939 - June 11, 2016

Place of Birth: Fairview, MT
Residence: Fairview, Montana
Age: 76

Sharon Ann (Lassey) Cayko was born Dec. 13, 1939 to Morris and Lillian (Thomas) Lassey at the old Pomeville house in Fairview, MT. She was baptized at the St. Peters Episcopal Church in Williston, ND. Sharon attended grade school at Pleasant Center in rural Cartwright, ND and worked for the Erickson family. She boarded in town while attending Fairview High School, where she was active in band and choir.
On March 10th, 1957 she was united in marriage to Andrew Cayko and they made their home on the original Cayko family farm. She was active in Jayceens and attended many MonDak Beet Growers Assoc., Federal Land Bank and Farm Credit Service Conventions with Andy.
Sharon and Andy were blessed with two sons, Timothy Lee and Daniel Wayne, who gave her much joy and some sleepless nights.
Her time on the farm was spent helping with harvests and providing meals for the various crews and her family. Her kitchen table was a gathering place, filled with good food and laughter. She was always surprised how 15 people could fit around a 4 foot table.
Keeping a daily journal was a lifetime habit, serving as a handy reference over the years and a source of memories.
Family outings included fishing and camping trips, which usually ended with playing music and singing around the campfire. Music had always been one of Sharon’s great joys in life. She had the talent of being able to play by ear whether it be on an accordion or her baby grand. Family and friends would hear “Let me play you a tune”. She loved listening to her sons sing and play guitar.
Throughout the years her family grew to include six grandchildren and two great grandchildren. She enjoyed going to many of her grandkids’ musical performances and sporting events. She was so very proud of all of them.
Sharon passed peacefully at her home, on June 11th, surrounded by her loving family. We will all miss her in so many ways.
Sharon is survived by her son Tim(Rhonda) of Fairview; grandsons Adam(Anna) of Fairview, Ethan of Madison, WI. Son Dan(Monica) of Fairview; granddaughters Vanessa(Justin) Fortin of Hayden Lake, ID; Alyson of Billings, MT; Lexi of Bozeman, MT; grandson Monte of Fairview. Great-granddaughters Brooklyn and Sophie of Hayden Lake, ID. Sister Charlotte(Larry) Collins of Alma, NE. Brother-in-law Mike Cayko of Couer D’ Alene, ID and numerous nieces and nephews. Special to her were: Ron, Chelle, Troy, Andi, Amy, Joe, Karyn, and Jeff
She was preceded in death by her parents Morris and Lillian Lassey, brother Roger Lassey. Her loving husband Andrew, infant daughter, and several brothers and sisters-in-law.

With great sadness I write these words to the family of Sharon Cayko. Sharon was like a mom and a big sister to me. I have always held her friendship, and that of Charlotte, deep in my heart no matter the distance between us or the time between conversations.
Timothy and Daniel I weep with you, but I also smile at memories. Your mom had a few sleepless nights with Charlotte and me, too. What a patient, loving, compassionate and caring person she was. I will always remember this very special lady. God bless each and everyone of you, now and forever.

May you all find peace as Sharon has done. I was thinking of her just the other day on my drive home. What a beautiful woman. Sharon always had a smile for me and what a great smile. In that smile I could feel her warmth and genuine caring. She will be missed but memories always to be cherished.

May the peace of the Lord be with you all,
Love Shirley
