Ella Albrightson
January 26, 1946 - June 10, 2016

Residence: Williston, North Dakota

Ella Albrighton, 70, passed away peacefully on Friday, June 10, 2016 at her residence in Williston. Fulkerson Stevenson Funeral Home of Williston has been entrusted with arrangements.

Ella was born January 28th, 1946 to Sverre and Gunvor Odegaard in Kunsvik, Norway. She and the family moved from the one cow farm to the United States when Ella was 6 years old. They made a wonderful life in Washington state where she completed High School at the age of 16. Ella went on to get her Masters in Psychology. She practiced as a psychologist for a few years, finding it too hard to counsel the young children she tried to help. Her heart was too tender.

Ella lived in many places, such as Alaska, Washington DC, California and Oregon. She met the love of her life, Bill Albrightson during her travels. They married in Virginia in 1974, lived in Oregon for a time but found their home in Williston. Bill’s family welcomed her with open arms. She and Bill started a family and had 3 children: Jacob, Elida, and Jessica.

As years passed, Ella had quite a few different jobs. She was not one to sit still long! She loved being around people. Just talking or helping in any way she could. Ella was a great listener and would do her best to alleviate others troubles. She found a good fit for herself at Model Dry Cleaners and worked there for 15 years, finally retiring in 2013.

Ella loved gardening, reading and being outdoors. Her favorite thing for most of her life was dancing and socializing. In the last couple of years, she seemed content to just be close with her family, including her 12 grandchildren. They were a source of endless entertainment for her and she lit up watching them grow. Ella’s latest pride and joy was Tykus, a rescue dog she adopted 2 years ago. She loved all of her animals but had a very special bond with him.

There this is a special place for Ella in the hearts of all who knew her and we will all miss her immensely.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband and brother Sig. Her dogs: Brandy and Poppy, and a cat named Scar.

Ella is survived by her son Jake Albrightson; daughters Elida (Darren ) Bauste and Jessica (Jason) Hanig. 12 Grandchildren; Isaac Albrightson, Richard, Angela, Keith, Kayla, Delton and Drayton Bauste, Aeris, Aeriel, Chase, Katelynn and Baby Girl (on the way) Hanig, 3 Great-Grandchildren Kayden, Heshton, and Aliya. 3 brothers Auden, Roy and Berger(Paul) Odegaard and numerous nieces and nephews.
