Ellamae Iverson
March 11, 1940 - May 17, 2016

Place of Birth: Scobey, MT
Residence: Culbertson, MT
Age: 76

Ellamae Iverson, 76, of Culbertson, MT, died Tuesday, May 17, 2016 at the Roosevelt Medical Center in Culbertson, MT. Fulkerson Stevenson Funeral Home of Williston is assisting the family.

Ellamae, daughter of Roxa and Alfred Wagar, was born March 11, 1940 in Scobey, Montana. She graduated from high school in 1958. Early jobs included the courthouse, Randy’s and the Blue Moon. After marrying Eugene Severson she moved to the ranch where they raised their six boys: Darryl, Ray, Danny, Eugene, Rick, and Steven.

Eventually she moved to Plentywood where she worked as a nurse’s aide at the hospital. It was there that she met Rodney Iverson, who was visiting his mother and uncle at the nursing home. After moving to Culbertson, she worked at the Culbertson school and the museum. She was a member of the Culbertson Museum, Northeast Montana Threshers, and Trinity Lutheran Church.

Ellamae was always ready to help someone in need. She cared for many senior citizens in their homes, which allowed them to stay independent for as long as they could. This sweet little lady will be remembered for her wonderful baking; she received many judge’s choice awards at the county fairs for her bread, buns, pies and cookies. September would find her laughing and carrying on with the Thresher wives in the cookshack at the Threshing Bee. One of her hidden talents was writing poetry; she had a special way with words.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her infant son Eugene, and infant grandson William Guy.

Surviving her are her beloved husband, Rodney; her siblings, Pauline Thoms, Irene Cole, Eugene Wagar, and Sharon Bahma; her sons Darryl (Suzanne), Ray, Danny, Rick, and Steven (Andrea) Severson; her stepdaughters Irene (Carl) Thuesen, Mae (Ward) Hecock, and Bev (Terril) Raaum; her grandchildren Jennifer, Mallory, Brady, River, Shaden, Savannah, Brandon, Tucker, Trevor, David, Cody, Ben, Katie, Jake, Jason, Alicia, Jennesy, and Jamie, 11 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

Ellamae will be deeply missed. She was loved so much and touched so many with her kind heart and soft words.
