Funeral services for Lloyd Becker, 86, of Sidney, MT is 10:00 a.m., Thursday, September 25, 2008 at the Pella Lutheran Church in Sidney, MT with Pastor George Karres and Pastor Josh Magyar officiating. Musical selections provided by Robyn Heck and Doris Norby. Casketbearers are Denny Wick, Bruce Edwards, Bob Savage, Phil Petrik, Dick Rein, and Bob Crandall. Honorary Casketbearers are Percy Knight and all of his McDonalds coffee buddies. Ushers are Tom Olson and Robert Rauschendorfer.

Interment of cremains will be in the Sidney Cemetery under the direction of Fulkerson Funeral Home of Sidney, MT at a later date.

Lloyd was born on March 31, 1922 to parents Frederick and Lida (Roberts) Becker in Lambert, MT. He grew up and attended schools in Lambert and graduated from Sidney High School. In September 1940 Lloyd entered the US Army where he served in Papua, New Guinea, Biak and Wakde Islands and the southern Philippines. Lloyd was discharged in June 1945. He returned to Sidney and started a construction company building stock dams throughout the county. Lloyd was united in marriage to Mary Reid on September 7, 1946. Lloyd started a trucking company in the 50's hauling freight which he ran until his retirement in 1981. In the mid 1960's he bought a farm on Fox Creek. Lloyd was also a licensed pilot and he enjoyed flying very much.
Lloyd loved his family. He enjoyed spending time with his children. He especially enjoyed the time he got to share with his great grandson, Jayden. After his retirement he spent his winters in Phoenix for many years. He loved to golf and recorded two holes in one. He enjoyed a good joke and was quite a jokester himself. Lloyd was a member of the Elks, the Moose Lodge, VFW Post #4099 and he was a charter member of the Quiet Birdmen BIL Hanger. Lloyd loved to just sit and visit. He enjoyed all of the senior lunches in the area. He spent many hours at McDonalds storytelling with friends and coffee buddies.
Lloyd died on Monday, September 22, 2008 at his residence in Sidney.
Lloyd is survived by: his sons, Ted (Linda) Becker and Mark Becker both of Sidney, MT; sisters Jeanette Swihart, Richey, MT, Doris (Clarence) Schraer, Billings, MT, Joyce (Doug) Deaton, Greensboro, NC, and JoAnne (Wayne) Brann, Greensboro, NC; five grandchildren; and six great grandchildren.
Lloyd was preceded in death by: his daughter, Sharon Kehler; his brother, Dale; and his parents.
