| Interment will be in the Pioneer Cemetery under the direction of Fulkerson Funeral Home. |

Arthur was born on July 3, 1937 to parents, Arthur and Hilda (Powell) Phares Sr., at Wilson, MT. The family moved to Lambert, MT later moving to White Fish, MT. His mother died when he was 3 years old. His father married Bertha Thornton who raised ArtyRoy. The family moved back to Lambert, MT where he attended school. His father joined the Army Corp during WWII and ArtyRoy moved to live with his grandparents in Vancouver, WA where he attended high school. At age 17 he enlisted in the Navy where he served for 10 years. He then worked for the railroad as an engineer. He later went to work for Werner Trucking where he stayed until he retired in 1999. ArtyRoy met the love of his life, Sarah Hatton in 1990. They made their home in Long Beach, CA. In June of 2003 he moved to Crane, MT. ArtyRoy enjoyed coming home and working the land with Kenny, Don, and Russel. He loved driving truck and being a teamster. He enjoyed family get togethers and food. Plus, he never missed a beet harvest . ArtyRoy died on Friday, November 6, 2009 at home. ArtyRoy is survived by: the love of his life, Sarah Hatton, Crane, MT; his mother, Bertha Phares, Portland, OR; daughter, Lori (Thomas) Queen, Alamosa, CO and her children Brianda Glover, Trisha Queen, Lauren Queen, Kimberlee Queen, and Heather Queen; step daughter, Summer (Ben) Skodacek, Youngstown, OH and her children Dylan and Jake; brothers, Donald (Sandra) Phares, Morgantown, WV and Raymond Phares, Sidney, MT. ArtyRoy was preceded in death by father and his brother, Kenneth.
