Esther Beard, 87 of Williston, ND, formerly of the Epping/Springbrook area passed away Thursday, October 29, 2009 at the Tioga Long Term Care.

Esther Mae Stevens was born June 9, 1922 to Harvey and Cecelia (Dayman) Stevens at Ray, North Dakota. She was raised on the family farm at Epping, and attended grade school at the Stevens School. She graduated from Spring Brook High School in 1940.

On September 28, 1940 Esther was united in marriage to Kenneth Bellet at Epping, North Dakota. The couple resided in Spring Brook for several years and she worked at the West Plains rural library for a time. Kenneth passed away in 1965.

Esther married John Beard on November 2, 1970 at Williston, North Dakota. The couple lived on John’s farm near the Palmer school west of Spring Brook until John’s death in 1989. She then moved into Williston where she resided at the Kensington for several years before entering the Tioga Long Term Care Facility where she has been a resident since.

She was an active member of Faith United Methodist Church. As a young girl Esther enjoyed fancy needlework and crafting. She also enjoyed bowling.

Esther is survived by her son, Dennis (Diane) Bellet of Epping, ND; grandchildren, Leslie (Cindy) Bellet of Leeds, SD, Gayle Craig of Rothsay, MN, Craig (Vicki) Bellet of Woldorf, MD, Michael Bellet of Williston, ND, Kenneth (Coleen) Williams of Endwell, NY and Sherry Dye, Orange Park, FL; 14 great-grandchildren and 3 great great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Kenneth Bellet and John Beard; daughter, Lois Williams; brothers, Allen Stevens and Robert Stevens; and infant brother, Arthur Stevens.
Visitation
Friends may call at the Fulkerson Funeral Home in Williston on Monday from 9:00 AM until 7:00 PM and at the church on Tuesday one hour prior to services.
Service
Her funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM, Tuesday, November 3, 2009 in the Faith United Methodist Church in Williston. Pastor Rod Tkach will officiate.
Cemetery
Interment will be in the family lot at Riverview Cemetery, Williston.
